5:00: Berthiaume made an outstanding save, denying Anderson on a breakaway to keep it a one-goal affair.

12:29: Messier scores a classic wrist shot goal, wiring a shot from the left circle over the shoulder of Berthiaume to make it a one-goal affair. | WPG 4, EDM 3

39.0: Mike Eagles took a cross-ice feed from Morris Lukowich, and made no mistake with a quick wrist shot. Ranford stacked the pads but the puck found its way into the back of the net. | WPG 4, EDM 1

2:42: Tikkanen got crunched into the side boards and skated off the ice gingerly.

3:46: Shots on goal are now 14-10 for Winnipeg.

6:02: Edmonton finally got on the board as Glenn Anderson spotted Messier in the high slot. The Moose made no mistake, wiring a high shot past Essensa. | WPG 3, EDM 1

8:56: The Jets onslaught continued after Dale Hawerchuk’s quick wrist shot eluded Ranford. Selanne got the assist for his third point of the game. | WPG 3, EDM 0

10:24: Kris King swooped in and picked up his own rebound and lifted it over Ranford to double the Jets lead to 2-0. | WPG 2, EDM 0

11:46: A penalty shot was given to Mark Messier. His backhand attempt was denied by Essensa.

13:30: Ranford made a nice stop as the Jets set up a one-timer in front of the Oilers goal.
