00:22: The 5-on-3 is wiped away, largely thanks to McElhinney. The Oilers now have a 25-18 lead in shots.

00:47: The Leafs manage a big clear after the Oilers had McElhinney beat, but it comes out off the post.

02:22: The Leafs take not one, but TWO penalties in rapid succession. Edmonton gets two minutes of 5-on-3. Huge opportunity for the Oil.

07:49: Oilers get some puck luck on a few big chances for the Leafs, but they’ll take it. The penalty has been killed.

08:46: Somehow the puck doesn’t cross the line behind Brossoit, then McDavid gets a shorthanded breakaway the other way but he’s denied by McElhinney.

09:49: Another Oilers penalty. 5-on-3 for the Leafs for 18 seconds.

11:31: Now the Oilers take a penalty and the Leafs are going on the man advantage. Nugent-Hopkins sits for a slash.

12:27: McDavid with a few looks at it on the PP but no goal so far.

01:00: A nice pass from Cammalleri to Maroon as he crosses the blueline, then a centring pass to Nugent-Hopkins in the slot but he can’t complete the nice play. Oilers have settled down quite a bit from the opening few minutes.

05:12: McDavid drives to the net, shedding his would-be defenders, but McElhinney gets his stick on the puck to make a great save.

08:29: Davidson with a big hit on Hyman as he crosses the blueline.

12:18: Leafs leading in shots 7-2 as the Oilers haven’t gotten much going.
