THIRD PERIOD

0.0: OILERS WIN! They remain perfect in the pre-season with a 4-0-0 record after beating the Canucks 5-3. Next up is the Winnipeg Jets at Rogers Place on Saturday.

1:56: Brad Malone and Carcone mix it up behind the Oilers net and force a whistle. Canucks have their net empty. Both players get two minutes for roughing.

3:52: Virtanen barrels down on a breakaway but Brossoit turns him aside with his right pad.

5:37: Jalen Chatfield takes a slapshot from the point that eludes Brossoit. Vancouver hanging around. | EDM 5, VAN 3

7:22: YAMAMOTO AGAIN! Getting a look with Draisaitl and Caggiula, Yamamoto zips another one-timer past Bachman. Assists to Draisaitl and Caggiula. | EDM 5, VAN 2

15:19: PAKARINEN TWO TIMES. The Finn fakes a slapshot then snaps the puck far side on Bachman as he streaks down the right wing. Unassisted marker. | EDM 4, VAN 2

16:14: Oilers kill the penalty. They continue to lead the charge in the shot department 28-17.

19:32: Fayne called for hooking early in the third.

20:00: The third period has begun.

SECOND PERIOD

0.0: Oilers score twice in the second to lead the Canucks 3-1. They also lead the shot count 28-14, are 53 percent in the faceoff circle and have 16 hits.

1:23: Yamamoto gets the best chance on the Canucks’ power play. His wrist shot from the left side is stopped by Bachman.

3:25: The slashing penalties continue to be called. This time it’s Lucic off to the box. Oilers to the penalty kill.

5:45: Lucic shows off some fancy hands as he weaves his way through the neutral and offensive zone. Draisaitl then receives a feed and his one-timer is stopped.

6:33: Yamamoto almost sets up Pakarinen for his second but the winger is hauled down by Philip Holm. Holm goes to the box for hooking.

7:45: Vancouver ices the puck and the whistle is blown. As the play is stopped, Mitch Callahan and Yan Pavel Laplante drop the gloves. Both get five for fighting.

10:09: Face-off violation penalty against Vancouver. Rodin to serve.

10:29: WHAT. A. SNIPE. Pakarinen approaches the offensive zone on a 2-on-1 with Kelly. He decides to keep the puck for himself, sniping a laser off the left post and in. Fayne and Oscar Klefbom get the apples. EDM 3, VAN 1

12:06: Adam Larsson is called for holding the stick. Oilers shorthanded.

14:43: YAMAMOTO! Chris Kelly corrals a Canucks’ giveaway, then slides it over to Kailer Yamamoto on the left side. He ripped a one-timer through Bachman to give the Oilers the lead. That’s Yamamoto’s third goal and fourth point of the pre-season. Kelly gets the lone assist. | EDM 2, VAN 1

18:32: Bachman coughs the puck up to Iiro Pakarinen but redeems himself on the subsequent shot. Anton Rodin then takes a slashing penalty, sending the Oilers back to the man-advantage.

20:00: Draisaitl wins the second period’s opening faceoff. Oilers finished at 68 percent in the circle after the first.

FIRST PERIOD

0.0: Oilers tie the game up in the final minute of the first. They’re out-shooting the Canucks 11-7 heading into the second.

35.1: DRAISAITL! The centre gets a nice feed from Milan Lucic at the Canucks’ blueline that springs him in all alone. He goes low blocker on Bachman to tie the game up. Assists to Lucic and Drake Caggiula. | EDM 1, VAN 1

47.4 Nikolay Goldobin tries to slip the puck under Brossoit’s pad on a partial breakaway but the netminder keeps it out.

1:19: Laleggia dances his way to the Canucks’ net but loses the handle and Bachman scoops up the puck.

2:52: Oilers down by one but out-shooting the Canucks 9-5.

6:43: Vancouver gets on the board first. Michael Carcone walks in from the left point then releases a wrister from the top of the circle that beats Laurent Brossoit. | VAN 1, EDM 0

8:28: Mark Fayne gets called for roughing. Oilers killed their first penalty but will be tested again.

10:33: Patrick Russell takes a slashing penalty. Oilers to kill now.

10:38: Yohann Auvitu rips a slap shot from inside the blue but Bachman catches it with his mitt.

12:18: Vancouver called for too many men on the ice. Oilers back with another power play opportunity.

12:37: Oilers think they score first but it was ruled that the net was off. Ty Rattie eluded a defender as he encroached the offensive zone, making it a 2-on-1 with Joey Laleggia. Laleggia bounced one on Bachman and then Keegan Lowe scooped up the rebound and fired it home. The game remains scoreless.

12:59: Ty Rattie drops the puck for Joey Laleggia in the slot but Laleggia’s one-timer is stopped by Bachman. Oilers lead the shot count 5-1.

18:12: Evan McEneny takes a puck over the glass delay of game penalty. Oilers to the power play.

18:19: Kailer Yamamoto nearly opens the scoring after picking up a loose puck on the right side of Richard Bachman.

20:00: Tonight’s game has begun.
