THIRD PERIOD

0.0: This one is over. Ducks win with the final shot count 30-24 for Anaheim.

1:03: Ducks ice the puck and then call their timeout.

2:06: Shots 30-23 as the Oilers try and get something going late. Edmonton calls a timeout after Ducks ice the puck. Coming out of the timeout, teh Oilers pulled Cam Talbot.

7:30: Shots are now 27-22 for the Ducks with Edmonton making a push.

13:24: Talbot made an unbelievable glove grab on Montour through traffic to keep the Oilers within one.

13:50: Shots were 25-18 for Anaheim just past the six-minute mark of the period.

16:39: Nick Ritchie quickly wristed a shot from the right circle that beat Talbot blocker side and gave the Ducks their first lead of the game. | ANA 2, EDM 1

SECOND PERIOD

0.0: Shots in the second period were 16-3 for Anaheim; 23-16 in the game over 40 minutes.

3:12: Talbot came up huge again, kicking out his right pad to deny Rickard Rackell in the slot.

5:00: Shots now 18-16 for Anaheim.

9:05: Talbot made two point-blank saves on Ritchie to keep the game tied.

11:05: Anaheim finally struck to tie the game. Andrew Cogliano crashed the net and tipped a backhand home after Ryan Kesler did some good work in front. | EDM 1, ANA 1

12:37: Talbot made an even better save with an outstanding glove grab on Josh Manson; shots were 14-13 Oilers 7:23 into the second (6-1 Ducks in the period).

13:17: Talbot made a big stop on Nick Ritchie from in-close moments after the penalty expired.

13:40: Silfverberg narrowly missed the net on a one-timer blast from the left circle.

15:25: The first Ducks power play occurred 4:35 into the second after Eric Gryba received two minutes for interference.

20:00: Period two is now underway.

FIRST PERIOD

0.0: After one, shots on goal were 13-7 for Edmonton.

1:12: Sami Vatanen used his stick to hold up David Desharnais on a five-star scoring chance. Desharnais fell to the ice and Vatanen headed to the box for hooking, giving the Oilers the game’s first man advantage.

3:38: Shots were 9-7 with less than four minutes to play in the opening period.

5:49: It appeared as if Anaheim had scored to tie the game, but the puck narrowly went offside before Cam Fowler skated in to rifle home a wristshot past Talbot. The whistle blew so it was a non-reviewable play.

10:07: Pouliot’s slap shot was redirected in front of the net by Nugent-Hopkins but Gibson slid across to make a nice save.

11:33: Ducks have a few chances in front; shots now 5-4 for Edmonton.

14:45: Cam Talbot dives out to make a flying poke check to knock the puck out of harm’s way.

15:00: Oilers off to a rousing start with a 5-1 lead in shots five minutes in.

16:29: 3:31 into the game, the Oilers got on the board first. The puck just inched over the line when Drake Caggiula chipped the puck off the stick of Ducks defenceman Shea Theodore in front of the Anaheim net. The puck bounced off Theodore and in past a stunned John Gibson. | EDM 1, ANA 0
