01:40: The crowd is cheering loudly, willing Edmonton on to victory. Net is empty.

06:01: Joe Pavelski adds one for the Sharks. He tips a point shot that took a bounce and got past Talbot. | EDM 3, SJ 2

09:25: Another rush by the top line results in a scoring chance, but the puck is deflected high and out.

12:09: Maroon again! He deflects a Russell shot for his second goal of the game. | EDM 3, SJ 1

17:25: Nice move by Kassian to the outside but Jones makes a save.

20:00: The third period is underway!

SECOND PERIOD

00:00: Still just a one-goal game heading into the third. Pavelski and Maroon each get two minutes in the final 9 seconds and it’s 4-on-4 hockey. | EDM 2, SJ 1

03:57: Jones makes a big save as the Oilers had a great PP chance.

05:24: Another chance for Edmonton on the power play. They haven’t been able to capitalize yet.

11:45: Edmonton is back on the power play.

14:54: The Oilers kill of the Slepyshev penalty. No shorthanded goal this time… :/

15:51: Hansen runs into Talbot behind the net and Adam Larsson goes after him. The two will each head to the box for fighting.

16:54: Slepyshev heads to the box for cross-checking.

FIRST PERIOD

09:38: The Oilers weather the storm and get the equalizer. Patrick Maroon buries a feed from Connor McDavid back door and it’s 1-1. | EDM 1, SJ 1

13:00: The Sharks have come out strong tonight and are outshooting the Oilers 9-2.

18:59: A tough bounce for the Oil. The puck rolls up and over Talbot. Sharks take a 1-0 lead. | SJ 1, EDM 0
