14:15: Eberle tripped up behind the Montreal net. Play continues.
15:32: Draisaitl turns and fires a puck after a turnover by the net but he can’t break Montoya.
18:17: Eberle pokes home a loose puck but, again, the play was whistled dead.

03:31: Oilers take their first penalty of the game. Caggiula to sit for interference.
05:14: Another penalty on McDavid. Emelin goes to the box for hooking. Edmonton back on the power play.
08:52: The Oilers can’t capitalize on a 4-on-1 following a turnover at the blueline.
09:29: Loose puck in the Montreal crease but Montoya covers up. After review it is ruled the play was dead when the puck went in.
12:10: McDavid with speed again nearly slips past Weber but he can’t hang on to fire a shot.
18:30: Caggiula with a nice chance in front but turned away.

FIRST PERIOD
00:00: All tied up after 20. Shots are 14-8 for the Oilers. | EDM 0, MTL 0
05:18: Nothing going for the Oilers on that PP. Back to even strength.
07:18: McDavid gets a turnover and goes straight in on goal, stopped by Montoya but the Oilers head back to the power play.
09:12: Back to even strength. Another trip on McDavid during the PP goes uncalled.
11:20: McDavid draws a penalty and then Shaw trips him away from the play, Maroon takes exception. Oilers headed to the power play.
17:20: Talbot kicks the leg out and makes a big save on Andrighetto.
18:41: Caggiula lands a nice check on Radulov behind the Oilers net. A lot of energy early.
19:29: Maroon had a big hit on Shaw a few seconds in, and the two shove each other after the whistle.
