THIRD PERIOD

0.0: AMAZING WIN!!! The Oilers win it convincingly 7-3 and put U of A netminder Matt Berlin in for the final few minutes for an extra feel-good story heading into the All-Star break!

2:26: HE’S IN! MATT BERLIN IS IN GOAL!

3:00: Matt Berlin is getting ready, everyone. Prepare to see the U of A Golden Bear netminder to make his NHL debut late in this four-goal Oilers lead!

5:13: Great link-up between Max Domi and Taylor Raddysh makes it 7-3.

8:01: MCLEOD THOUGHT IT WAS IN AND IT WAS!!! The buzzer sounds after it looked to have crossed the line off Seth Jones’s shin, confirming his eighth goal of the season. A multi-point game for him tonight too with a goal and assist! | EDM 7, CHI 2

11:19: EVANDER KANE GETS IT BACK!!! Just 12 seconds after the Oilers gave one up, Kane quickly buries Draisaitl’s feed off a turnover for his first goal since returning from his wrist injury. His last goal came in a hat trick on Nov. 1 against the Nashville Predators. That one’s got to feel good for both Kane and the Oilers seeing him find the back of the net. | EDM 6, CHI 2

11:31: Jonathan Toews gets one back for Chicago on the power play with a redirection. | EDM 5, CHI 2

20:00: The third period is underway!

SECOND PERIOD

0.0: Take a minute to regroup after that period if you need it. The Oilers score four of the five second-period goals to take a commanding 5-1 lead into the final period.

1:26: Caleb Jones puts a hold in on Klim Kostin for a penalty.

5:12: IT GOES IN OFF HYMAN!!! THE OILERS ARE FIRIN’!!! Seconds after failing to convert off a breakaway, Hyman is fortunate to have Ryan McLeod’s turn-around chance go in off the forward. That’s 15 points during a seven-game point streak for last week’s NHL First Star of the Week. | EDM 5, CHI 1

6:48: GO OFF, CONNOR!!! Number 41 on the season for the Oilers captain is another beauty after he walks out from behind the net and sends a backhand far side on Mrazek. Three points on the night for McDavid as Edmonton hits twice in 57 seconds! | EDM 4, CHI 1

7:45: BARRIE’S GOT TWOOOOOOO!!! It’s knocked down by Zach Hyman in front and the Oielrs d-man cleans up the easy chance after it snuck through the five-hole of Mrazek. The Blackhawks wave for a high stick, but the puck is going to be dropped and we have a two-goal Oilers lead! | EDM 3, CHI 1

7:59: Great tilt at centre ice between Lafferty and Kulak! The Stony Plain product doesn’t fight often, but he’s more than capable after a spirited scrap.

8:21: Great kill by the Oilers, including a pair of shorthanded chances!

10:21: Nurse takes down Athanasiou for a tripping penalty.

13:23: THE DUO DOES IT!!! A great link-up between McDavid and Draisaitl down low leads to the German finishing off the captain’s behind-the-back pass to restore Edmonton’s lead. Draisaitl has seven goals in his last eight games and the Oilers are now 2-for-2 on the PP tonight. | EDM 2. CHI 1

13:56: Ian Mitchell chops down Mattias Janmark to give the Oilers the chance to take their lead back on the power play.

14:35: Jason Dickinson finds himself in alone off the rush and beats Campbell under the arm to tie the game. | EDM 1, CHI 1

20:00: The second period is underway!

FIRST PERIOD

0.0: The Oilers lead after 20 minutes thanks to Tyson Barrie’s PPG!

5:12: Klim Kostin goes to the box to serve a Too Many Men penalty from the Oilers.

14:40: BARRIE BREAKS THE ICE!!! A nice wrister from the defenceman for Edmonton’s first shot of the game goes down off the blocker of Petr Mrazek and finds its way in. McDavid extends his points streak to 12 games with an assist that’s his 50th helper and 90th total point of the season so far through 50 games. Wild. | EDM 1, CHI 0

15:03: Seth Jones and Darnell Nurse get involved with one another in the Oilers zone, but Jones’ last action pushing Nurse down was enough to give the Chicago defender the only penalty. Edmonton gets a PP out of it.

16:20: BIG GLOVE SAVE BY CAMPBELL!

18:01: Andreas Athanasiou has a wide-open breakaway but loses the handle on the puck!

20:00: GAME ON!!!

20:00: Puck drop is coming up in moments!

Feel better, Stu! Matt Berlin will be our backup tonight to Jack Campbell.

20:00: Warmups are underway at Rogers Place.
