THIRD PERIOD

0.0: GAME OVER!!! From start to finish, the Oilers dominated. Edmonton scores six and records 53 shots in a 6-2 rout of the Ducks. McDavid, Kostin (2) and Nugent-Hopkins score as the Oilers get back to winning ways on this four-game road trip. See you Friday in San Jose.

4:26: Now Nugent-Hopkins is denied in alone on the backhand! Stolarz saw the scouting report.

8:00: Stolarz, the former Oilers, gets piece of McDavid’s backhand on a breakaway!

9:45: Shattenkirk gets a breakaway out of the penalty box but he puts it wide over the net.

11:53: Janmark is cross-checked down by Shattenkirk then a scrum ensues. Kostin has a man on the ground after everything settles. Janmark didn’t like how Shattenkirk sent the puck back to him when he was on the ground after the infraction.

19:12: Simon Benoit tees one up from the blue line to make it 6-2.

20:00: The third period is underway!

SECOND PERIOD

0.0: Pure domination here in Anaheim as the Oilers lead 6-1 through 40 minutes.

1:16: THROUGH THE LEGS LEON?!? He has that in his arsenal, too? A sublime slap pass from Evan Bouchard to the back post lands on the paddle of Draisaitl, who put it through the legs in a sick little show of skill from the German. | EDM 6, ANA 1

1:22: Desharnais takes a slash from Zegras after stripping him of the puck. Oilers PP!

9:44: McDavid gets the hands up on Kulikov for a roughing penalty. Ducks to the PP.

12:19: TWO FOR 21!!! Kostin drops to one knee in the wheelhouse and goes top shelf for his second for the game and a 5-1 Oilers lead! That line is jammin’ with Koston, Janmark and Nugent-Hopkins. | EDM 5, ANA 1

FIRST PERIOD

0.0: Terrific Oilers first period sees them command the game with a 17-8 shot lead and 4-1 advantage over the Ducks.

57.9: KLIMIN’ IT UP!!! A sweet pick-off by the Russian in the offensive zone off Kulikov leads to him beating Gibson five-hole at the tail end of a dominant first period for the Oilers. Already his sixth of the year! | EDM 4, ANA 1

4:25: Cries from the Oilers bench for too many men on the Ducks and they’re heard. Edmonton heads to the game’s first PP!

9:37: SENSATIONAL MCDAVID!!! McDavid slams on the brakes, glides into the slot and delivers a backhand snipe top shelf on Gibson to restore the two-goal lead. | EDM 3, ANA 1

11:08: Sam Carrick on a quick strike for the Ducks coming out from behind the net makes it 2-1. Sam Comtois threw the pass across the crease where Carrick was waiting. | EDM 2, ANA 1

15:22: TWO BIRDS AHEAD!!! Ryan Nugent-Hopkins’ shot from the top of the circle deflects in front and finds the back of the net for his 20th of the season, making it four 20+ goal scorers for Edmonton this year. Evan Bouchard and Philip Broberg get the assists. | EDM 2, ANA 0

16:36: WOWOW HOLLOWAY!!! Connor McDavid puts a no-look behind-the-back pass from behind the Ducks’ net onto the tape of Dylan Holloway to one-time past John Gibson early in this one. Holloway finds production alongside McDavid inside their first five minutes together on a line with Kailer Yamamoto. | EDM 1, ANA 0

19:01: Puck falls to Ryan McLeod’s backhand off an offensive zone faceoff win, but he strikes the post!
