OVERTIME

2.6: McDavid skates in all alone and dekes then fires it into Reimer’s glove. The play goes to video review to determine if the puck crossed the goal line.
3:00: Jordan Eberle breaks towards the net and has a great chance but Reimer comes up big to keep the game tied.
4:10: Draisaitl and McDavid skate in on a two-on-one but a feed is intercepted. The action goes back the other way where Russell makes a great play to get the puck out of harm’s way.
5:00: Overtime is about to begin.
THIRD PERIOD
00:00: Oilers tie it up late to force overtime. After regulation it’s 3-3 and shots are 31-30 for the Oilers.
2:59: THE MONKEY IS OFF HIS BACK! Eberle approaches on a two-on-one, keeps, shoots and scores his first goal since December 6. EDM 3, FLA 3
5:15: The Ageless Wonder Jaromir Jagr continues to amaze. He scores with close to five minutes left to put the Panthers up. Goal later awarded to Greg McKegg. EDM 2, FLA 3
7:04: A few good opportunities by the oilers third line and then Jared McCann is shut down by a Talbot toe save.
9:59: Game remains tight with just under 10 minutes to play. Shots are now 27-24 Panthers.
15:11: Kassian throws the puck on net and it just misses Lucic for a greasy one. Still deadlocked at two.
16:39: A Kris Russell one-timer from the blueline hits Reimer and goes out of play.
20:00: The third period starts without Jujhar Khaira on the Oilers bench. He will not return to the game.
SECOND PERIOD
00:00 The second frame ends all squared up at 2-2. Shots are 26-19 Florida.
1:25: Michael Sgarbossa gets an ugly one in the Oilers crease on the power play. EDM 2, FLA 2
2:38: Oilers kill the penalty but are shorthanded once again. Benoit Pouliot gets two minutes for holding the stick.
4:43: Oilers can’t capitalize on the man-advantage. Gryba goes to the box for holding Jaromir Jagr. Blue and orange shorthanded now.
8:10: Jonathan Marchessault gets two minutes for delay of game after clearing the puck out of play. Power play Oilers.
9:06: Talbot catches a wrist shot from the blueline to force a whistle. Shots now 20-18 Florida.
14:46: Oilers nearly strike again. Letestu slides the puck on goal and it just misses Kassian’s skate.
20:00: The second period is under way.
FIRST PERIOD
00:00: Period ends with the Oilers up one. Shots are 15-13 Edmonton.
2:47: Vincent Trochek streaks down the right side and picks the right corner. Panthers on the board. | EDM 2, FLA 1
3:56: Oilers out-shooting the Panthers 13-9.
7:03: OILERS SCORE AGAIN! Seven seconds into a Panthers too many men penalty, McDavid sends the puck across the blue paint to Letestu who redirects it with his skate. No kicking motion, this one is good. EDM 2, FLA 0
9:29: Shots are 11-7 for Edmonton at the midway mark of the first period.
13:50: OILERS GOAL! Connor McDavid wheels into the offensive zone then threads a perfect pass through three Panthers to Zack Kassian who puts it into an open net. McDavid gets his 100th career point. | EDM 1, FLA 0
14:40: A sneaky Nugent-Hopkins wrister is stopped by James Reimer.
18:26: Cam Talbot tested early and often. Makes a point-blank save on Reilly Smith then another on a point shot from Aaron Ekblad.
20:00: Puck dropped. Game on.
