3:11: McCabe’s rebound pops out to Patrick Kane to tie the game from the slot. | EDM 5, CHI 5

8:36: Jonathan Toews takes down Yamamoto for a penalty. It’s starting to shift the way of the ‘Hawks when it comes to the minors this period.

9:44: CONNOR ARE YOU KIDDING?! The guy’s got a hat-trick but it might get overshadowed with all the other chaos, but that move will get its deserved applause. Bouchard won the puck at the blueline and sent it across to the captain, who dangled around the high forward and slung his shot five-hole on Stalock. Wow. | EDM 5, CHI 4

11:12: Darnell Nurse is high sticked, sending the Oielrs back to the powerplay.

15:12: Athanasiou cuts through the crease and bowls over Campbell for a goaltender interference penalty. We’re even.

17:04: Here we go again. Bouchard is tagged for holding chasing a puck back into the defensive zone.

19:36: NUUUUUUUUUGE!! The Oilers get another early-period goal for a big response to begin the final period. Draisaitl made a sublime cross-crease pass to Nugent-Hopkins, who buried his chance for his 201st career goal after striking the double century last night in St. Louis. Now, we have to build and keep it tight and disciplined. | EDM 4, CHI 4

20:00: After that crazy second period, the third is underway with the Oilers on a brief man advantage.

SECOND PERIOD

0.0: That’ll do it for one of the most chaotic periods you’ll see. Eight penalties go the way of the Oilers who trail 4-3 after 40 minutes.

1:18: Caleb Jones lays out for a block but he trips the Oilers d-man coming in. Another penalty, this time to the Blackhawks.

3:14: Max Domi scores. Alright. | CHI 4, EDM 3

3:44: Evander Kane obviously didn’t like the call and he made it known from the bench. The referee decided it’s worth two minutes for Unsportsmanlike Conduct and a lengthy 5-on-3 Oilers penalty kill.

4:07: Battling with Seth Jones in front again, Kane pushed into Stalock before getting up and finding a loose puck that he easily buries. But the refs meet at the scorekeeper’s booth and wave it off. The Oilers challenge and bring on a lengthy review, but it’s confirmed and now we’ll be short two minutes.

8:17: Wanna guess what we did? We took another penalty. Nurse for crosschecking.

11:03: Goodness. Now it’s Holloway trudging off for hooking.

11:32: UP AND OVER!!! McDavid’s quick-reaction shot from the feed by Leon Draisaitl strikes Stalock’s mask and goes up into the air before trickling over the line when it landed. Tie game in an ‘interesting’ second period so far. | EDM 3, CHI 3

11:53: Penalty parade. Both Barrie and McCabe get involved in front and take minor penalties.

12:33: The Blackhawks take two quick minors in succession, with Kurashev having to take a hooking call on McDavid. The Oilers turn a four-minute penalty kill into a 4-on-3 powerplay.

14:17: HUUUUUUGE JACK CAMPBELL STOP!!! He kicked out the right pad for a massive stop on Philipp Kurashev!

14:30: Kane takes exception to some rough stuff and delivers a crosscheck to the back of Seth Jones that’ll put him in the box for four minutes. That’s Edmonton’s fourth penalty of the game.

16:07: A shorthanded rush for McDavid leads to the captain drawing a slashing penalty!

17:12: The Oilers not helping themselves out, taking another minor penalty through Markus Niemelainen for interference.

18:27: Jonathan Toews back door. Quick lift for the Blackhawks back into the lead. | CHI 3, EDM 2

19:32: Jack Campbell clears one over the glass. It’ll be Delay of Game, served by McDavid.

19:42: CONNOR WOW!!! Dirty snipe! Just 18 seconds into the new period, Connor walks down the left side and wires a wrist shot over the glove of Stalock to tie the game. It’s the Captain’s sixth of the season and 12th point. The assists go to Evan Bouchard and Brett Kulak. | EDM 2, CHI 2

20:00: GAME ON!!! Second period underway.

FIRST PERIOD

0.0: The Oilers apply some good pressure in the last few minutes but they’ll rue their missed assignments on both goals that put them behind a goal heading into the intermission.

3:27: Jesse Puljujarvi draws a call in the neutral zone from Jarred Tinordi, who tripped the Finn.

4:22: Reese Johnson gets an easy rebound and tap-in with a delayed penalty coming. The Oilers fall behind. | CHI 2, EDM 1

4:51: Hyman and McDavid almost connect on the exact same play that led to the opening goal.

6:40: A Hell Mary pass from Max Domi to Andreas Athanasiou for a breakaway pays off as the ‘Hawks equalize. | EDM 1, CHI 1

9:31: HYMAN HELLO!!! Sick one-timer! Connor McDavid finds the winger with a pass through the slot that Hyman one-times home from the middle of the left circle. Evander Kane picks up the secondary helper. | EDM 1, CHI 0

12:09: Holloway’s first action isn’t the best one as he heads to the box for interference in the defensive zone.

15:58: CROSSBAR!!! A great breakout into the Blackhawks zone leads to a great let-off pass by Nugent-Hopkins to Cody Ceci, who rattles his shot off the iron.

16:59: Holloway gets on the ice for his first shift since his injury last week against the Buffalo Sabres. Welcome back, Hollywood! He’s skating on a line in between Devin Shore and Derek Ryan.

20:00: Always an epic anthem here at the Madhouse. PUCK IS DROPPED!
