THIRD PERIOD

0.0: HYMAN ADDS AN EMPTY-NETTER — Oilers win 3-1! See you tomorrow in Chicago!

6:16: NUUUUUUUUUGE!!! NUMBER 200 FOR HIS CAREER!!! McDavid sets the Nuge up with a seeing-eye, cross-crease pass that’s put away by Nuge to give Edmonton the lead and himself the double-century for goals. Congrats, Nuge! | EDM 2, STL 1

10:11: SKINNER! McLeod falls and coughs up the puck, but his netminder shuts the door on the high-danger chance!

11:34: Skinner with a humongous save, but a crosscheck from behind by Darnell Nurse on Nathan Walker sends St. Louis to the powerplay.

15:23: Nugent-Hopkins with the ideal look for goal number 200 for his career, but Binnington makes the pad save on the 2-on-1. Might’ve been a stick that came in on his hands, but no call.

20:00: The final frame is ON!!! An important 20 minutes ahead!

SECOND PERIOD

0.0: The Blues even things up late to send us into the second intermission tied.

4.4: Blues get on the board at the death. Ryan O’Reilly bats it off Skinner’s side and in from the left on the man advantage. | EDM 1, STL 1

1:49: Evander Kane slashes the stick out of Jordan Kyrou’s hands. PP to the Blues with less than two to go in the second period.

3:27: Great save Skinner! An open look from the point from Colton Parayko leads to the tall defender wiring a slapshot that Skinner puts out of play with the blocker.

7:22: Incredible chances at both ends during a three-minute spell that included Edmonton’s powerplay. Hyman was denied twice in dramatic fahsion by Binnington, while Skinner was forced to defend for a solid 45 seconds without a stick with the Oilers hemmed in their own zone.

11:21: TRIPPED UP! The Oilers head to the PP with Justin Faulk heading off for tripping.

16:11: Draisaitl juuuust misses a one-timer on an Oilers 3-on-2.

20:00: The second period has begun!

FIRST PERIOD

0.0: Period one over! The Oilers outshoot the Blues 11-6 and lead and lead after 20 minutes 1-0 through Nurse’s goal.

3:53: MAD SCRAMBLE!!! Binnington thought he had it, but it was loose in the crease and it led to a couple of dangerous looks for the Oilers that were stamped out by the Blues defenders laying their bodies out on the line.

7:55: The Oilers had the puck in St. Louis’ end for the entire two minutes of that PP, but nothing comes from it except a lot of good chances. Make it 10-for-10 this season for the Blues shorthanded.

9:55: After a good kill, it’s Edmonton who will try out the man advantage with Noel Acciari in the box for hooking. St. Louis comes into this game a perfect 9-for-9 this season on the penalty kill. Can Edmonton give them their first blemish?

12:45: Ryan Murray trips up Ivan Barbashev. St. Louis heads to the man advantage with the chance to equalize.

13:53: DARNELL NURSE!!! It might’ve been tipped going through by Jesse Puljujarvi, but the Oilers take the lead after Warren Foegele’s pass from behind the net found the defender wide open. **UPDATE** It is, indeed, Jesse’s goal! He needs one more point to hit 100 for his career. | EDM 1, STL 0

15:17: The Oilers have held the Blues to no shots in the first five minutes while holding the majority of possession in the St. Louis zone.
