THIRD PERIOD
0.0: Wasn’t our night. The Oilers are shut out 4-0 by the Kraken in the second of back-to-back pre-season games. We’re back in action on Wednesday night in Calgary against the Flames.
5:19: Max McCormick (interference) and Markus Niemelainen (roughing) head to the box.
7:45: Janmark off for slashing. The parade to the box continues.
8:42: Another call against the Oilers, this time it’s Luke Esposito with the hooking penalty.
12:03: Devin Shore trudges off to the box for hooking.
19:17: Connor Geekie with the one-timer off Tanev’s feed on a 2-on-1 makes it three. It goes down as a SHG. | SEA 3, EDM 0
20:00: The final period is underway with the Oilers in need of a pair to tie things up.
SECOND PERIOD
0.0: That’ll do it for the second period and the Oilers trail by a pair. There’s 2:18 left on the powerplay for Edmonton on the other side of the intermission.
17.5: Fanti with a short-handed breakaway stop on Bjorkstrand. Edmonton struggling to generate offence with the man advantage.
2:42: Jacob Melanson with a high elbow and dangerous hit to the head of James Hamblin in the neutral zone. That’s dirty. He’s been assessed a five-minute major for Illegal Check To The Head and a match penalty, and the Oilers will have an extended man advantage.
5:07: Benson is called for slashing by the referee after the whistle. The Kraken head back to the man advantage.
5:45: Wrap-around goal for Ryan Donato, who made a good individual effort to keep the puck and go all the way around the net and tuck it far post on Fanti. | SEA 2, EDM 0
7:50: Benson is stopped on a breakaway by the left pad of Daccord!
9:57: Welcome to the hockey game, Ryan Fanti! He replaces Olivier Rodrigue, who made 11 saves on 12 shots. Joey Daccord swaps with Martin Jones in the Seattle net as well.
15:07: Kraken with Too Many Kraken on the ice. The Oilers can get it back on this PP, having gone 0-for-2 in the game so far.
17:48: Sick snipe from Matty Beniers, the Kraken’s first-ever Draft pick in 2021, who put it bar down over Rodrigue from the right side. | SEA 1, EDM 0
20:00: The puck is down for the second period!
FIRST PERIOD
0.0: Period 1 ends with not much to show for it. Shots go 6-5 in the way of the Kraken, with Rodrigue looking like Edmonton’s best player in the opening 20 minutes.

35.1: Brandon Tanev gets two minutes for interfering with Rodrigue in the blue paint. Oilers head to the PP late in this period.
3:37: Hamblin takes his second minor of the first period with a holding penalty at the Kraken blueline.
3:53: Michael Kesselring off the iron! His shot from the left circle takes a deflection and strikes the right post.
6:52: A desperation dive for the puck from Michal Kempny takes down Tyler Benson. That’s as easy as a tripping call as you can get.
9:44: Puck is in for the Oilers but the referee waves it off after Noah Philp made incidental contact in the crease with Kraken netminder Martin Jones.
15:17: The first power play goes to the Kraken with James Hamblin in the box for hooking.
