2:42: EVANDER KANE EMPTY-NETTER SEALS THE DEAL!!! | EDM 5, SJS 2
6:05: DRAISAITL DOUBLE!!! Hyman dishes it to McDavid at the right circle, and the captain puts a perfect pass to Draisaitl in the slot to tap in past a sliding Kahkonen to double Edmonton’s lead. | EDM 4, SJS 2
6:16: Sharks send it over the glass for a Delay of Game penalty.
12:42: Just 29 seconds later, Tomas Hertl beats Smith from the slot to make it a one-goal game again. | EDM 3, SJS 2
13:11: 📢 BRASSARD FIRST OILERS GOAL! 📢 The new Oilers sauced it into the middle for Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, but it struck the skate of a Sharks defender and found its way in for his seventh of the season! Jesse Puljujarvi gets the assist! | EDM 3, SJS 1
16:47: As Timo Meier comes around the net after a shot on goal, Mike Smith gets the glove up on the forward and takes a roughing penalty.

SECOND PERIOD
0.0: Oilers strike twice after falling behind through Draisaitl and Yamamoto to lead 2-1 through 40 minutes.
6:44: Great reactionary save from Smith on Karlsson after Burns sent a slap-shot feed on the ice to the Swede at the far circle.
7:04: Stick rides up high on Hertl from Kane. No complaints on two minutes there.
12:21: DRAI DOES IT AGAIN!!! After Zack Kassian chipped it in and separated the defender from the puck, Draisaitl picked it up and fired his 43rd of the season over the right pad of Kahkonen to put the Oilers ahead. It’s an unassisted goal, but Kassian helped set that go-ahead goal up. | EDM 2, SJS 1
15:26: YES YAMO!!! It all started with great wheels from Ryan McLeod, who got a feed in the neutral zone from Duncan Keith nearly made his way through the San Jose defence before he kicked it out to Yamamoto, who dangled inside and slid his 18th of the season five-hole under Kahkonen on the powerplay to tie the game. | EDM 1, SJS 1
17:05: Kulak gets chopped down at the legs by Viel. The Oilers will get the night’s first man advantage, trailing by a goal.

o.o: Oilers and Sharks scoreless after 20 minutes here at Rogers Place.
3:48: After Puljujarvi worked it loose in the corner and sent a pass in front to Brassard, the new Oiler dished it to Nugent-Hopkins, who hit the post. Best chance of the game for the Orange & Blue!
6:18: McDavid picks up a pass from Kane on the breakout and nearly goes all the way. Thought there could’ve been a hold there, but the ref lets it go.
11:35: Shots are 7-2 Oilers as we near the midway mark of the opening frame. Sharks also preventing a few with five blocks on the board already.
13:47: First TV timeout of the night and the two debutants for the Oilers — deadline acquisitions Derick Brassard and Brett Kulak — have got their feet under them after their first few shifts.
20:00: GAME ON!!! The Oilers can make it six in a row on home ice tonight!

A big Rogers Place standing ovation for tonight’s Scotiabank Skater Ben before tonight’s anthems!
If you are going to Oilers/Sharks game tonight make sure you give a huge cheer for the flag bearer. Young Ben is five years old and has been battling stage four brain cancer. This is a special moment for him and his family. Give him a HUGE cheer if you can. #GoBen @m_dan25
