THIRD PERIOD
o.o: OILERS WIN!!! The Oilers are winners of four straight after securing their 34th victory of the season in a 6-1 win over the Buffalo Sabres on St. Patrick’s Day. Edmonton can make it a perfect five-game homestand on Saturday afternoon in a matinee meeting with the New Jersey Devils.
4:24: TYSON BURIED!!! Warren Foegele with an incredible turn-around pass onto the tape to Barrie, who one-times his fourth goal of the season past Anderson. Oilers still on the powerplay. | EDM 6, BUF 1
5:41: Double minor gets handed down to Vinnie Hinostroza after he high-sticked McDavid, who went straight to the room for repairs.
14:02: SHORESY SHORTIE!!! The finish was nice, but what a great piece of hand eye from the forward. He bats down a clearance in the neutral zone, goes in alone, and snipes the Oilers fifth goal of the night and his fifth of the season five-hole on Anderson. | EDM 5, BUF 1
14:33: Kyle Okposo goes down on a trip from Cody Ceci, giving Buffalo their first chance with the man advantage.
16:39: Victor Olofsson cranks a cross-ice one-timer that beats Smith five-hole. | EDM 4, BUF 1
20:00: The third period is ON!
SECOND PERIOD
0.0: Oilers tack on two more and lead 4-0 through 40 minutes with a 25-18 shot advantage. Let’s keep ‘er going!
5:36: Incredible save from Anderson to keep Hyman from lifting it over the pad and into the net after the 41-year-old threw out the right pad with the puck loose in front.
6:18: CALL THE DOCTOR!!! Nurse finds the puck in the left circle, corrals the puck, and slides it five-hole on Anderson with plenty of Orange and White bodies in front of him. Seventh of the season for Doc and the Oilers are in control. | EDM 4, BUF 0
7:26: Draisaitl comes close to finding Puljujarvi cross ice on a 2-on-1 but it caught the skate of the Buffalo defender.
11:18: PERSISTENT LEON!!! Make that 40 on the year for Draisaitl!!! The German picks up a loose puck seconds off an offensive-zone draw and got one whack at it in front before he executed the swan dive on the second bash and buried the Oilers third goal of the night while flying through the air. | EDM 3, BUF 0
15:32: Moments after McDavid and Kane couldn’t connect on a 2-on-1, McDavid gets held behind the Buffalo net after trying to slide it back in front to Kane. The Oilers head to the night’s first PP and Jay Woodcroft is electing to use his timeout to rest some important pieces.
18:11: Dahlin gets taken down and slides into Smith, who shakes off the collision. Refs check if the puck went into the net but it’s NO GOAL.
20:00: The second period has BEGUN!

6:50: CONNOR BANGS IT IN!!! The captain tried to feed it across the crease to Evander Kane, but it hit the skate of a Buffalo defender and fell right back onto his stick to bat by Anderson and double Edmonton’s lead. McDavid has two points already tonight, along with Yamamoto who sets a new career-high in points with the assist. | EDM 2, BUF 0
11:31: Mike Smith makes a big blocker save on a 1-on-1 look from Jeff Skinner.
