0.0: Markstrom stops 26 of 27 shots as Calgary wins this one 3-1. Devin Shore gets the lone Oilers goal. Edmonton returns home to Rogers Place for a meeting with Washington on Wednesday.

1:41: Oilers pull their goalie for the extra man.

1:51: Tyler Benson takes a 10-minute misconduct and his night is done. Didn’t like a hit by Lucic on Broberg seconds earlier and made it known to the refs.

2:53: Gaudreau tucks it in on a breakaway with just under three minutes left after Nurse coughed it up at the Calgary blueline. | CGY 3, EDM 1

8:07: McLeod heads off for tripping. A big kill coming up for the Oilers.

9:27: Yamamoto gets a good look that’s struck down by the stick of a Calgary d-man, then McLeod’s has a follow-up shot that’s deflected out of play.

13:21: Nurse slashes the stick of Tkachuk and takes a penalty. Calgary is 1-for-2 tonight as they get their third man advantage.

15:03: DEVIN SCORE!!! The puck strikes the official’s skate and kicks back in front to Ryan, who has his first shot stopped by Markstrom beforeShore buried the rebound. Still counts, and the Oilers have life! | CGY 2, EDM 1

15:16: McDavid tried to take matters into his own hands and splits two Flames defenders before getting a good chance.

0.0: The Flames score twice through Toffoli and will take a 2-0 lead into the third period.

3:20: Shots 16-14 and 2-0 on the scoreboard for Calgary.

10:06: Toffoli again. He puts it into the far top corner from the left circle. | CGY 2, EDM 0

13:33: Toffoli lifts it into the top corner from in close. Opening goal to Calgary. | CGY 1, EDM 0

14:15: Broberg gets the stick in the hands of Lindholm for a hooking penalty.

16:38: Back official makes the call as Kane is tripped by Lindholm behind the Calgary net. Third power play for Edmonton.

17:23: Markstrom makes a big save on Brad Malone and puts it out of play after Colton Sceviour delivered a great feed onto his tape.

20:00: Before the puck even drops, Evander Kane and Matthew Tkachuk take coincidental slashing calls. Fired up before the whistle.

FIRST PERIOD

o.o: Oilers survive a late flurry on the Calgary PP before the horn sounds. No score through 20 minutes here at the Scotiabank Saddledome.

1:44: Tyler Benson loses the puck to Elias Lindholm and has to hold him from letting him get away on a partial break. Calgary’s first man advantage late in this frame.

5:44: Nikita Zadorov gets the high stick up on Yamamoto to send the Oilers to their second power play.

9:09: Nurse loses the puck at the blueline and Tyler Toffoli goes in alone, but he runs out of room as Koskinen spreads out to deny the Flames forward wrapping it back inside the near post.

10:22: Ryan McLeod takes an unnecessary hit from Mikael Backlund, who goes off for interference. Edmonton will get the first PP!

14:13: Incredible deflection by Zach Hyman on the shot from Darnell Nurse, but somehow it doesn’t squeak under Jacob Markstrom

18:26: Mikko Koskinen slides across and gloves an early chance from Tyler Toffoli. A confident opening stop for the Finn.
