THIRD PERIOD

0.0: PLAY LA BAMBA!!! Make that FOUR wins in a row!!! The Oilers fall behind 2-0, but storm back to win tonight’s game decisively over the Ducks by a score of 7-4. Five different Oilers post multi-point nights, including Leon Draisaitl’s two-goal effort to take over the lead in the NHL scoring race with his 35th goal and 68th point. The Oilers head to Winnipeg on Saturday for an afternoon contest against the Jets and the first of a back-to-back.

8:23: SEVENTH HEAVEN!!! Zach Hyman puts a backhand away after McDavid put the puck on his stick from the right corner. | EDM 7, ANA 3

9:41: GET THAT GOAL BACK!!! Just under a minute after Zegras pulled one back for the Ducks, Leon makes it a three-goal game once again with his 35th tuck of the season by cutting onto his forehand and wiring one under Gibson’s glove. | EDM 6, ANA 3

10:43: Zegras puts one off the back of Smith from the goal line to cut Edmonton’s lead to two. | EDM 5, ANA 3

15:32: Ducks getting angry now as Sam Carrick takes two for Unsportsmanlike Conduct.

15:39: FOEGELE GETS IN ON THE ACTION!!! The Oilers are passing around the Ducks right now for fun. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins turns onto his forehand, crosses it through the crease to Foegele, who easily one-times it home into the empty cage. Gibson had no chance. | EDM 5, ANA 2

20:00: Let the third period COMMENCE!

SECOND PERIOD

0.0: McDavid takes a hooking call right at the buzzer, but what a period from the Oil. They score three to lead 4-2 after 40 minutes while leading 30-15 in the shot department.

1:57: It’s been all Blue & Orange this period, with Edmonton outshooting the Ducks 30-13 and scoring three times.

9:39: WE’RE RUNNING WILD!!! That’s four-straight goals for the Oilers after Ryan McLeod sends it across to Leon Draisaitl to easily tap in at the back post for his 34th goal of the season. McLeod picks up his second assist of the game, while Kane has a helper to go along with his first-period goal. | EDM 4, ANA 2

12:34: PULJUJAR-THREE!!! Edmonton has roared back to take the lead. After Zach Hyman dished it to McDavid, the captain chipped it through three Ducks defenders then dropped it left for the Bison King to put home with a vicious swipe on one knee. Goal #13 for Puljujarvi puts the Oilers into the lead. | EDM 3, ANA 2

15:48: DEREK DEFLECTION TIES IT!!! It’s a tango of tip-ins here at Rogers Place, as Derek Ryan deflects home his fourth of the season from the slot and third top-in of the game after the shot was put on net from the point by Cody Ceci. Warren Foegele picks up the secondary helper. | EDM 2, ANA 2

17:31: Refs currently reviewing a potential goal for the Ducks, but it looked like Smith kept it out… AFTER REVIEW: The play was complete when the whistle blew, so we have no goal.

20:00: The second period is UNDERWAY!

FIRST PERIOD

0.0: The Oilers get one back right before the break to head into the intermission down 2-1. Edmonton doubling up the Ducks in shots 16-8.

1:14: KANE TRAIN!!! Two Ducks defenders get pulled into the corner by Bouchard, who kicks it up to an open Ryan McLeod to send over to Evander Kane to rip into the top shelf and halve the Ducks advantage. He does it with his Dad in the crowd tonight for his birthday too, burying his fourth goal of the season. | ANA 2, EDM 1

3:08: Isaac Lundestrom goes off for hooking, representing a great chance for the Oilers to get one back before the break. Second PP of the night for Edmonton.

5:46: Puck is put on goal by Zegras from the right corner and Sonny Milano finds a way to deflect it five-hole under Smith. Two PPG’s for the visitors on two tries. | ANA 2, EDM 0

7:33: Zegras is tripped by Nurse after dumping the puck in. Second powerplay for the Ducks coming up.

8:50: The Captain is wheeling tonight as he tries to burn a Ducks defender wide and slide it five-hole on Gibson to no avail.

11:47: Connor McDavid picks up the puck with blazing speed and heads in on a breakaway, but John Gibson parries it over the glass with a blocker save.

15:21: Adam Henrique tips one in on the powerplay from between the hashmarks for the opening goal after Cam Fowler put it towards the net. | ANA 1, EDM 0

17:42: A couple of good looks but the Oil can’t cash in. Now, they’ll be shorthanded with Tyson Barrie heading to the box for tripping Trevor Zegras.
