THIRD PERIOD

0.0: Time winds down and Edmonton is shut out 6-0 in a solid performance from Sergei Bobrovsky in the Florida Panthers crease with 40 saves. The Oilers are losers of seven-straight games and head into a pivotal Battle of Alberta on Saturday night against the Calgary Flames.

1:44: Owen Tippett buries it on a give-and-go from the corner with Gudas.

3:06: Sam Bennett adds another PP goal for the Panthers.

3:46: Brendan Perlini runs through Bobrovsky and takes Edmonton’s fifth infraction of the night.

4:01: Anthony Duclair makes it a four-spot for the Panthers.

4:55: The parade to the penalty box continues with Duncan Keith tripping up Verhaeghe.

7:37: Radko Gudas takes a holding call and he doesn’t like it. Nonetheless, he’s heading to the box for two minutes.

10:31: The elbow comes through from Kris Russell and Edmonton heads back to the penalty kill.

12:47: Barkov walks into the slot and wrists his second of the game past Koskinen. 3-0 Panthers.

19:00: Nurse wheels up the ice on a rush and lets fly a quick half-clapper that fooled Bobrovsky but struck iron.

20:00: The third period is underway!

SECOND PERIOD

0.0: The Oilers are more than doubling up the Panthers on shots 29-13, but Florida has double to goals thanks to talleis in the second period from Verhaeghe and Barkov.

7:34: Tyler Benson is interfered with by Mackenzie Weegar. Can’t do that. An Oilers PP is coming up!

11:53: Carter Verhaeghe is left open to fire blocker side past Koskinen and double the Panthers’ lead.

14:32: Alexander Barkov takes the saucer feed from Sam Reinhart and buries it short side for the game’s opening goal.

15:07: Colton Sceviour is handed a crosschecking call. Edmonton heads to the penalty kill for the second time tonight.

15:33: Mikko swallows a slap shot from the point by Aaron Ekblad. The Finn is into double digits for saves.

20:00: The middle frame has begun!

FIRST PERIOD

0.0: The Oilers outshoot the Panthers 17-7 in a first period that was carried largely by the Blue & Orange. A great opening frame for Edmonton, but sadly no goal to show for it. Time to carry that hustle into the second period.

08.6: Bobrovsky makes a big stop in the dying moments of the frame after McDavid and Puljujarvi connected on a great give-and-go.

6:49: Florida gets its first chance on the powerplay with Duncan Keith in the box for tripping.

9:00: Nothing comes from the first Oilers man advantage, but what an effort. Two great chances come dangerously close to crossing the line. Plenty of hustle from the Orange & Blue here at Rogers Place!

11:00: Skate hard and good things happen. Leon Draisaitl draws the slashing call on Brandon Montour as he broke out of the Oilers zone with speed, sending Edmonton to the first PP of the night!

12:41: Sergei Bobrovsky finds a way to get a blocker on Bouchard’s shot through traffic. Speaking of, it looks like one-way traffic in the opening 10 minutes as Edmonton leads in shots 9-2.

15:05: Bouchard gives one away from behind the net to Jonathan Huberdeau in the slot, but he’s bailed out smartly by Koskinen.

17:34: With a full cycle of the lines and d-pairings done, the Oilers are the team on the front foot with ample pressure in the offensive zone.

20:00: GAME ON!! The puck has dropped at Rogers Place with the Oilers looking to snap a six-game skid against the prowlin’ Florida Panthers.
