SECOND PERIOD
0.0: Carlo’s late goal puts Boston ahead for the third period. Shots are 18-16 BOS through 40 minutes and the home side is also dominating the faceoff dot at 68 percent.
2:46: Brandon Carlo rips a point shot with Pastrnak screening Koskinen to give the Bruins their third lead of the night. Do the Oilers have another rebuttal? | BOS 3, EDM 2
3:57: Charlie McAvoy sails a blistering wrist shot high and wide after the Bruins administer some strong forechecking.
Connor McDavid clearly tripped behind the Boston net with no call…as usual. Guy has the puck on his stick 90 percent of the time he’s on the ice and he’s drawn as many penalties this season as Radko Gudas.

7:28: McDavid splits the defence then goes forehand but kisses the iron. Just before, the Oilers Captain tried to wraparound the Bruins’ net but was tripped but no call was made. …
8:50: Edmonton goes 3-for-3 thus far on the penalty kill, averting any danger from Boston’s last opportunity.
11:18: Koekkoek is tagged again, this time being directed to the box for tripping.
14:30: THE REPLY! Zach Hyman says, ‘I can do that!’ and places a backhander blocker side past Ullmark as the Oilers have another quick answer for the Bruins. He has eight markers on the year to go with three assists. McDavid gets the only assist, extending his point streak to 12 games and giving him 598 points in his career.| EDM 2, BOS 2

15:42: McDavid turns on the jets to beat the Bruins defence wide and puts a sneaky low shot on Ullmark, hoping the rebound will pop out for Nurse but he can’t get his blade on it.

FIRST PERIOD
0.0: Ullmark robs Kailer Yamamoto’s one-timer on an odd-man rush with Ryan and then Darnell Nurse whiffs on a great feed from McDavid as the club gets two opportunities near the tail end of the period. Koekkoek’s minor is also suppressed and the frame concludes with a deadlocked 1-1 score. The Bruins, known for playing a heavy game, are out-hitting the Oilers 19-9.
2:30: Slater Koekkoek is sent to the sin bin for a holding infraction. Edmonton goes back shorthanded.
7:01: Nugent-Hopkins prevents a clearing attempt from leaving the zone but his stick is busted in the process, allowing the Bruins to attack the other way. Draisaitl comes back to make a great defensive effort but the power play goes cold on its first opportunity.
9:10: Foegele puts pressure on Connor Clifton to cause the Bruins defender to flip the puck out of play, warranting a delay of game minor. The Oilers power play goes to work.
9:26: Derek Ryan bats at the puck and then Warren Foegele follows suit with a knuckler of his own but Ullmark keeps the door shut.
14:31: BAR DOWN! Evan Bouchard picks his spot perfectly, WIRING a wrist shot glove side to go bunk down on Ullmark and tie the game up. His second of the season is a thing of beauty and he now has points in four straight. Draisaitl gets his 14th assist on the play while Nugent-Hopkins nabs his 15th helper. | EDM 1, BOS 1
15:15: Pastrnak grabs a new twig, wheels inside from the right circle and beats Koskinen 5-hole to open the scoring. | BOS 1, EDM 0
16:47: The Oilers don’t get the start they wanted but do get the kill they needed as David Pastrnak’s stick explodes on his one-timer attempt. At the other end, Connor McDavid hammers a clapper of his own that Linus Ullmark squeezes for the whistle.
18:58: The Oilers experience a tough start to the night, being hemmed in their own zone and then seeing Leon Draisaitl called for tripping Brad Marchand. Boston goes to the power play.
