16:06: SKINNER! Another big save by the big goaltender, this time on a nifty deflection from the high slot by rookie Lucas Raymond. Skinner was able to quickly shift into the butterfly position to get his left leg on the dangerous attempt.

19:22: THE CAPTAIN! McDavid attacks from the left wing, sneaking a far-side shot past Nedeljkovic to get the Oilers within one! That’s his ninth of the season while the assists go to Draisait and Evan Bouchard. It’s not over yet… | DET 3, EDM 2

1:46: Skinner sees more action as Tyler Bertuzzi deflects a point shot on net and that is followed by Dylan Larkin’s heavy slapper from the top of the left circle, which Skinner got a piece of with his glove. He’s up to 15 saves now!

11:19: PRINCIPAL SKINNER! The net-protector makes three consecutive stops to prevent the Red Wings from opening the scoring, first kicking aside Adam Erne’s quick strike from the slot and then shutting the door on Givani Smith’s three jams at the puck from the side of the cage. That doesn’t bode well with Tyson Barrie, who comes in the defence of Skinner after the whistle.

13:46: Edmonton’s third line of Foegele-Ryan-Yamamoto works the boards in the offensive zone, leading to a sharp-angle wrister by Duncan Keith for the Oilers first shot on goal. Netminder Alex Nedeljkovic fastens his shoulder to the post for the save.
