2:43: Eberle hammers a one-timer but Skinner is there to keep it out.

3:46: Yamamoto is called for hooking, giving the Kraken a 4-on-3 advantage.

5:00: Overtime has begun!

THIRD PERIOD

0.0: We’re off to overtime as the Oilers and Kraken exchange deflection goals. The Everett crowd gets five extra minutes of 3-on-3 action and then a shootout following that!

57.1: Schwartz catches a piece of Giordano’s shot to score the equalizer for the home side. | EDM 1, SEA 1

1:13: Kraken Head Coach Dave Hakstol takes a timeout to give his top five-man unit a breather. Daccord has been pulled, giving Seattle the 6-on-5 advantage.

4:41: Shore threatens off the rush, whipping a quick shot on net that Daccord handles and freezes.

6:50: DISCO STU! The netminder makes a sequence of great saves to protect the Oilers lead. First, he robbed Wennberg’s one-timer and then gobbled up Jarnkrok’s shot.

8:25: Skinner handles Jeremy Lauzon’s shot with ease for the whistle. Oilers remain in control heading into the final stretch of the game.

11:20: The Oilers continue to lead near the midway mark of the third as Skinner looks to keep the clean sheet alive.

12:00: Yamamoto steals a puck in the offensive zone then aims blocker side but can’t tickle the twine behind Joey Daccord, who took over goaltending duties for Seattle. Grubauer ended the evening with 16 saves on 17 shots.

20:00: The third period has begun with the Oilers shorthanded for 19 seconds.

SECOND PERIOD

0.0: Skinner does a great job of keeping the door shut, thwarting Alexander Wennberg late to preserve the Oilers one-goal lead.

1:41: Tyson Barrie takes a charging penalty against Alexander True. Seattle goes back to the powerplay.

4:26: The Oilers do a good job of keeping Seattle to the outside to neutralize Berglund’s minor.

6:47: Skinner snares Jarnkrok’s quick wrist shot and the whistle sounds as the Oilers are called for their first penalty of the game. Filip Berglund heads off for slashing.

8:32: Colton Sceviour slips past a Kraken defender then tries to beat Grubauer high glove but sails the shot wide.

14:46: RIP IT & TIP IT! Koekkoek airs a point shot on net and Perlini deflects it past Grubauer to notch his FOURTH goal of the pre-season! Shore won the faceoff, Seth Griffith got the puck to Koekkoek and Perlini capped the play with the deft touch. | EDM 1, SEA 0

15:53: Seattle ices the puck to give the Oilers an offensive zone faceoff. Edmonton will look to jumpstart the offence in the second as the Kraken have shot four of the five total shifts in the frame.

18:16: The Kraken attack on a 2-on-1, with Schwartz and Mark Giordano barreling down on Skinner, but the guardian stays composed to foil the odd-man rush.

20:00: The second period has begun!

FIRST PERIOD

0.0: The Oilers outshoot the Kraken 9-8 but can’t break the deadlock as time expires on the first period.

2:00: Koekkoek draws yet another penalty, sending the Oilers to the man advantage.

2:25: Bugsy! Brad Malone tries to get the bench going by engaging in a scrap with Carsen Twarynski. Malone gets the quick takedown.

2:45: Former Oiler Jordan Eberle intercepts the puck from Devin Shore and whips a wrister at Skinner, who makes the save.

5:34: STU! Skinner registers his sixth save of the night, this one on Kraken forward Calle Jarnkrok, who spent his entire 508-game NHL career with the Nashville Predators until this point.

7:20: Skinner fastens himself to the post to stop Jaden Schwartz in tight.

9:42: Slater Koekkoek gets clipped by Vince Dunn, who receives a high-sticking penalty. Edmonton goes back to the man advantage.

12:42: Yamamoto weaves his way to the net for a prime opportunity and then Jame Hamblin just misses on a rebound in front. The Oilers are carrying the momentum early in Everett.

16:25: The Oilers outshoot the Kraken 4-0, with Brendan Perlini firing two himself, but can’t get one through Philipp Grubauer.

18:15: Oilers forward Colton Sceviour draws a slashing penalty to give the Oilers an early powerplay.

20:00: Let’s Go! Tonight’s neutral site match has begun as Washington products Derek Ryan and Kailer Yamamoto lead the Oilers offence alongside Zach Hyman. In goal, keeper Stuart Skinner is expected to get the full game.
