THIRD PERIOD
0.0: OILERS WIN! Draisaitl scores two goals, McDavid gets seven points closer to 100 with two assists, Nurse notches his 16th and Bouchard deposits his second of the year in a big 4-1 win over the Canucks. Smith stops 27 shots for his 19th victory. The two teams meet again on Thursday at Rogers Place.
2:24: Nugent-Hopkins heads to the sin bin for slashing.
5:07: THE DOC! Darnell Nurse whips a wrist shot past Demko to notch his 16th(!) goal of the season and 15th at even strength. The blueliner has blossomed into quite the threat from the back end this year. | EDM 4, VAN 1
6:49: Nothing comes from Vancouver’s third man advantage. Shots are 9-4 VAN in the third as the home side tries to mount a comeback late.
11:54: Larsson delivers a high hit on Hughes in the neutral zone, which agitates several Canucks players. Larsson goes back to the box, this time for elbowing.
12:40: Nugent-Hopkins and Draisaitl get good looks on the man advantage but Demko shuts the door.
15:35: Smith makes four shorthanded saves to keep Edmonton’s special teams perfect tonight. The club is 2-for-2 on the man advantage & penalty kill and gets a chance to go for a third power-play goal as the Canucks take a too many men bench minor.
18:16: Adam Larsson and Pearson mix it up in the defensive zone but the Oilers defender is the only one to be whistled for roughing. Vancouver goes up a man for two minutes.
20:00: The third period has begun! The Oilers look for their third consecutive victory and second straight against Vancouver.

SECOND PERIOD
0.0: The Oilers explode for three goals in the final six minutes of the second period as Draisaitl notches two and Bouchard pots the other. Smith stops six pucks in the stanza and has 11 saves through 40 minutes.
46.6: BOUCH! Evan Bouchard walks in from the point, fakes the slapper then gets into a better lane to sift a seeing-eye wrister right through Demko. He scores his second of the campaign in his first game since March 1! | EDM 3, VAN 1
2:35: MCDAVID ➡️ DRAISAITL ➡️ 🥅🚨! Draisaitl puts back yet another howitzer to bury his second of the evening and 26th of the year. McDavid gets point No. 93 with the apple 👀. | EDM 2, VAN 1
2:45: J.T. Miller misses the stick lift on Tyson Barrie, whacking him in the face instead. He’ll head off for high-sticking and the oilers will get a 4-on-3 advantage for 1:29.
3:06: Tanner Pearson is called for hooking to nullify Vancouver’s power play. The two sides go 4-on-4 for 1:50.
3:16: Lagesson is whistled for interference in front of the crease. Edmonton goes shorthanded.
5:31: YIN & YANG ☯️! Draisaitl LAUNCHES a one-timer short side for his 25th of the season off a feed from McDavid. The Oilers Captain gets point No. 92 with the assist. | EDM 1, VAN 1
6:47: Yamamoto AGAIN! Nugent-Hopkins separates Hughes from the puck with a great clean hit, opening up a 1-on-1 for Yamamoto on Demko. The Oilers winger tries to go to his backhand and loses the handle in the process.
9:38: Khaira shows his strength down low once again with another net drive, this time on his backhand. Demko keeps the Oilers off the board, however. Shots are 7-5 EDM in the 2nd.
15:50: ALL OILERS! Edmonton pours it on early in the second as McDavid’s shot from the left circle is blocked and then Leon Draisaitl whiffs when he tries to pull the trigger on a one-timer.

FIRST PERIOD
0.0: Yamamoto continues buzzing around the cage, nearly putting home a rebound while Demko was down and out. Vancouver opens the scoring but the Oilers have dictated the pace tonight with plenty of opportunities.
1:05: A lengthy sequence without a whistle sees the Oilers get oh-so-close to knotting this one up. Yamamoto’s open-net shot is blocked by Quinn Hughes, Alex Chiasson’s howitzer from outside dents the post and Tyler Ennis tries to score a lacrosse-style goal from behind the net to no avail. At the other end, Smith stymies Hoglander’s slot shot and his own rebound attempt.
8:06: Jujhar Khaira grabs the puck behind the goal-line then makes a power move to the net, only to be stopped by Demko with his pad glued to the post. The Oilers fourth line generates a good shift.
12:11: Kahun is denied on the doorstep by Demko after the aforementioned second line orchestrates a nice passing play while on a 3-on-1. That line had a great game yesterday and are following it up in the rematch.
15:33: The Oilers second line of Kahun-RNH-Yamamoto sustains pressure then kicks the puck up top to Bouchard, who rips a one-timer that Thatcher Demko steers aside.
19:26: Brock Boeser deflects Nils Hoglander’s pass into the net off his skate while attacking on a 2-on-1. A fortunate bounce puts the Canucks ahead just 34 seconds in. That’s Boeser’s 200th career point. | VAN 1, EDM 0
20:00: Tonight’s game has begun! Oilers Head Coach Dave Tippett makes a few changes to his lineup as Kyle Turris slots in on the right side of Ryan McLeod and Tyler Ennis. William Lagesson and Evan Bouchard also replace Caleb Jones and Ethan Bear on the blueline. Mike Smith starts in goal!
