1:35: Head Coach Dave Tippett pulls Smith for the extra attacker.
4:31: Edmonton suppresses the Flames’ power play and enter into desperation mode with under five left to play.
8:43: Another penalty goes against the Oilers, this time it’s Yamamoto who will sit for two minutes.
10:49: Smith squeezes tight to keep the puck in his chest after Hanifin’s slapper.
13:28: Calgary gets back ahead with a Noah Hanifin goal off the rush. | CGY 4, EDM 3
14:35: THE DUO! McDavid drops to Draisaitl and the German SNIPES a shot short-side for the equalizer. Draisaitl is up to 17 goals and extends his point streak to seven games. McDavid gets point No. 53 and is on a six-game streak.
17:15: Nurse heads to the box for holding. The Oilers are dropping down to just a few defenders as Tyson Barrie retreated back to the dressing room after the third period started.
18:42: Draisaitl peppers Markstrom with a hot one-timer but can’t get it to go. The Oilers fail to capitalize on the power play.
20:00: The third period begins with the Oilers on the man advantage. Khaira will not return tonight as he deals with an upper-body injury.

14:35: The Oilers turn the puck over in the neutral zone, allowing Dube to breach on a partial break. He goes 5-hole to open the scoring. | CGY 1, EDM 0
15:13: Neal whips a shot just wide off a rush prompted by an outlet pass by Smith. The Flames run up a 7-0 shot count to open the third until Ryan Nugent-Hopkins snaps one on net that Markstrom stops.
17:17: SCHMIDDY! The Oilers keeper scrambles to stop Dube as he approaches dangerously then later stymies Josh Leivo’s wrister on a partial 3-on-1.

0.0: The Oilers kill Chiasson’s penalty to exit the opening frame scoreless. Shots are 5-4 CGY but the Oilers are dominating the faceoff circle with a 73 percent average.
3:12: Alex Chiasson is sent to the penalty box for tripping. Calgary gets the game’s first power play.
4:48: Calgary puts together a few strong shifts in the Oilers zone but has nothing to show for it. Shots are 4-4 with just under five to play in the first.
10:28: Brett Ritchie asks Khaira to drop the mitts after the Oilers forward caught Oliver Kylington with a hit earlier in the period. Ritchie gets the decision as Khaira heads to the dressing room after taking a blow.
11:01: McDavid makes an errant pass behind the Oilers goal-line and Dillon Dube grabs the puck then tries to jam it past Smith to no avail.
11:49: Archibald sets up in the left circle and fires a wrist shot but Markstrom makes the glove save.
15:11: Connor McDavid strides into the Flames’ zone and slides a shot on Markstrom, who makes the butterfly save.
18:20: The Oilers third line of Jujhar Khaira, Devin Shore and Josh Archibald spin around in the attacking zone putting two shots at the net to get things going offensively.
20:00: The Battle of Alberta has begun! James Neal steps into the lineup and Patrick Russell comes out upfront. On the back end, Kris Russell is back on the blueline while Caleb Jones is out. Mike Smith starts in goal!
