7:27: McDavid winds up for a howitzer that Markstrom can’t handle but the Oilers Captain can’t re-direct the rebound in. Edmonton fails to convert on the power play.

9:57: Tkachuk is called for charging. The Oilers get a critical power-play opportunity with under 10 to play in the frame.

5:44: Kailer Yamamoto feathers a pass across to Tyson Barrie cruising to the net and he gets a weak tip on Jacob Markstrom but the keeper denies it. Yamamoto takes a tripping minor to give the Flames the game’s first power play.

12:46: Calgary is out with a clear mandate to put everything on net and finish their checks. They have 10 shots on goal and 12 hits.

18:04: Smith is sharp early with back-to-back stops on Andrew Mangiapane from up close.
