3:09: The Oilers get a big break as Ehlers gets his stick up on Tyson Barrie. EDM goes to the PP.
4:32: The Jets up the attack as the game continues to wind down.
6:28: Kailer Yamamoto stops up ahead of the Jets’ crease to handcuff Hellebuyck but loses a handle of the puck.
9:27: McDavid and Nugent-Hopkins work a nice give-and-go from below the goal-line but Nugent-Hopkins kisses iron with a short-side shot. The Jets continue to trail halfway through the 3rd. Shots are deadlocked at 27 apiece.
15:50: Ding ding… more penalties. Blake Wheeler takes an interference infraction to give the Oilers a power play.
16:50: Josh Archibald mixes it up with Lowry after the whistle. He gets a 10-minute misconduct as a result.
18:32: Pionk rips a slapper high blocker to get the Jets within one. | EDM 3, WPG 2
19:06: Lowry busts in on a partial break but his attempt is foiled by Nugent-Hopkins. RNH is sent to the box for slashing, however.
20:00: The puck has dropped on the third period with Edmonton on the power play.

0.0: The second period comes to a close with the Oilers leading by a pair. Draisaitl’s goal is the lone score of the stanza. Shots in the 2nd were 10-7 EDM but Winnipeg edges the shot chart 22-19 after 40. Edmonton will have 1:33 of power-play time to work with when the 3rd begins.

15:05: Puljujarvi puts a shot on from out front but can’t get it by Hellebuyck.
17:36: Winnipeg gets their first penalty of the night as Adam Lowry skates to the sin bin for interference. The Oilers powerplay unit goes to work.

0.0: Things are starting to get chippy as Draisaitl fakes a hit on Pionk before the two share words. Edmonton escapes the first period up by one despite being shorthanded three times. Shots are 15-9 Jets.
54.0: Mark Scheifele sneaks a wrist shot through Smith on the power play. | EDM 2, WPG 1
1:54: Neal Pionk catches Ennis with an open-ice hit near the offensive zone but the Oilers forward bounces right back up. Nurse heads back to the box for high sticking, though it might have been a Winnipeg stick that caught Nikolaj Ehlers up high.
3:40: The Oilers get another big kill, their second of the period. Smith has three shorthanded saves.
5:43: Darnell Nurse gets whistled for high sticking. Edmonton goes back to the penalty kill.
7:28: The Oilers neutralize Nugent-Hopkins’ minor. Shots are 6-4 Edmonton more than midway through the period.
9:58: The Oilers continue to apply pressure but will have to go to the kill as Ryan Nugent-Hopkins gets called for slashing.
