McDavid finishes with two goals and one helper, Draisaitl collects a pair of assists and Koskinen stops 26 of 29 shots. The club will be back here again Sunday against the Ottawa Senators. THIRD PERIOD

0.0: Archibald is ROBBED on a 2-on-1 in the dying seconds. This game is headed to overtime. Shots at the end of regulation are 30-28 Edmonton. The Oilers are also 59 percent in the dot.

29.6: It will be a next-goal-wins finish in this one as less than 30 seconds remaining on the clock.

3:05: Ethan Bear played one shift in the third then left the game and will not return.

3:39: Jesse Puljujarvi dashes in on a partial break but can’t get loose.

6:44: Tyson Barrie winds up and hammers a slapper but Andersen snares it. Shots are 28-25 EDM.

8:56: MIKK🛑! Edmonton’s netminder makes a BIG desperation glove save on Marner from the doorstep to kill the penalty and keep the score locked.

12:17: The Orange & Blue sustain the attack in the offensive zone but Yamamoto is whistled for holding behind the goal-line. HUGE penalty kill coming up for the Oilers. Toronto is 1-for-1 this evening.

14:31: Matthews busts in from the left side but Draisaitl disrupts his shot attempt just in time.

20:00: The third period has begun!

SECOND PERIOD

0.0: Toronto and Edmonton exit the second frame deadlocked at 3-3. McDavid wows with an incredible individual effort goal to make it 3-1 but Matthews and Hyman answer for the Leafs. Shots are 24-19 EDM.

2:44: The Oilers get close with one-timers from Draisaitl and Nugent-Hopkins but can’t find the back of the cage on the man advantage. The club is 1-for-2 on the night.

5:54: The top line does damage in the attacking zone as McDavid gets a quick shot off but it kisses the iron. The Oilers get a power play out of their hard work as Lehtonen goes off.

7:55: Draisaitl speeds in from the wing and lets a wrister go but Andersen holds it.

10:44: Hyman evens the score on the power play, depositing a re-directed shot from the point. | EDM 3, TOR 3

11:26: Draisaitl gives some stickwork to Matthews. He’ll go off for cross-checking.

11:52: Auston Matthews taps one back from a tough angle to cut the deficit to one goal. | EDM 3, TOR 2

13:47: THE HUMAN HIGHLIGHT REEL! McDavid peddles up ice and through three Maple Leafs, going top corner while falling to score a certified Goal of the Year candidate! That’s his sixth goal of the year and it is an absolute beauty. | EDM 3, TOR 1

14:09: Nylander interferes with Kailer Yamamoto, giving the Oilers the first power play of the night.

15:27: MIKKO! The keepers stops Mitch Marner’s goalmouth attempt and Zach Hyman’s follow-up. He has 12 saves tonight.

17:25: McDavid finds RNH in the slot but he can’t fight off the forest of bodies in front of him to get a shot on net. The Oilers are keeping their foot on the gas pedal early in the middle period.

20:00: The puck has dropped for the second period!

FIRST PERIOD

0.0: The Oilers take a 2-1 lead into the second thanks to Archibald! Shots are 13-9 Oilers.

13.1: ARCH 🎯! McDavid feeds Archibald at the side of the net and his shot breaks through Andersen! The Oilers get a BIG response to restore the lead with just 13 seconds left in the period. McDavid extends his point streak to six games, making it 10 points during that span. | EDM 2, TOR 1

2:14: William Nylander hunts down the puck ahead of the crease then slams it past Koskinen’s glove hand. | EDM 1, TOR 1

2:50: Josh Archibald pick-pockets Andersen but sends a spin-o-rama shot wide. Shots are 12-6 Oilers.

8:32: GRAB THAT PUCK! Dominik Kahun fans on his first shot but reloads to beat Andersen glove side for his first in an Oilers uniform! Reverse Retro uniform, to boot! His compatriot Leon Draisaitl grabs the lone assist. | EDM 1, TOR 0

9:14: QUICK pace to this one with few whistles. The Oilers get close to opening the scoring as Connor McDavid threads a pass over to Ryan Nugent-Hopkins off the rush but his shot catches a piece of Frederik Andersen. James Neal later looks for Zack Kassian crashing the net but the puck skips just before getting to his blade.

16:22: Mikko Lehtonen covers the puck in the Maple Leafs’ crease and the Oilers are awarded a penalty shot. Ennis tries to go blocker side but misses the net.

20:00: Tonight’s game has begun as the Oilers and Leafs square off in their Adizero Reverse Retro uniforms! Tyler Ennis slides into the lineup for Joakim Nygard while Mikko Koskinen makes his 10th straight start in goal.
