1:50: Nurse looks for a deflection in front but nobody gets a piece. Looks as though the next goal will decide this one.

5:47: Matthew Highmore deflects a point shot to tie it up late. | EDM 3, CHI 3

9:42: The Blackhawks keep pushing as Maatta sifts one on net from the point. Koskinen gets a glove on it.

10:48: Kampf drives to the net and puts a soft puck on but Koskinen gets a whistle.

13:21: Alex Chiasson digs for a puck in the slot then quickly fires off a snapshot that. Crawford steers away with his shoulder.

17:34: RUSTY! Russell gets in the way of Dach’s one-timer, blocking it with his skate.

20:00: The third period has begun!

SECOND PERIOD

0.0: Edmonton takes a 3-2 advantage into the third after McDavid’s man-advantage marker. Shots in the penalty-riddled second period were 10-8 Edmonton, who killed four minors.

7.8: THE CAPTAIN! McDavid shows some patience at the side of the net before flipping the puck home. That’s No. 97’s fifth goal of the series and seventh point. Draisaitl picks up point No. 3 on the goal with the lone helper! | EDM 3, CHI 2

1:50: Jones does a good job of limiting Dach’s space as he attacks on a partial break. Some rough stuff ensues after the whistle, sending Benning and Alex DeBrincat both to the box but DeBrincat gets an extra two for roughing and slashing. The Oilers get a power play out of it.

3:15: Dach smashes Ennis in the numbers, causing No. 63 to stay on the ice. He’s eventually helped up but it looks as though the Oilers will be short a winger. No call on the play. Athanasiou moves up with Yamamoto and Draisaitl.

3:32: Darnell Nurse throws the puck on net and both Jujhar Khaira and James Neal tip it but Crawford makes the stop.

4:32: The Oilers kill Athanasiou’s minor. Shots are 15-14 EDM.

8:18: Another penalty… This time Athanasiou goes off for holding.

8:55: Klefbom gets a couple of point shots through and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins gets a cheeky tip on Connor McDavid’s pass but Crawford keeps everything out.

10:56: A few swings and a few misses by Toews helps keep the ‘Hawks off the scoresheet on their latest power play. Now the Oilers get an opportunity as David Kampf heads to the sin bin for hooking.

13:26: ANOTHER penalty goes to the Oilers. Archibald skates off for interference. The Oilers are 3-for-4 on the PK tonight.

15:53: MR. ART ROSS! Matt Benning throws the puck on net and Draisaitl pounces on the rebound to knot this up at 2-2 with his second of the night! The goal comes right after Yamamoto’s penalty expired. | EDM 2, CHI 2

18:21: The Oilers neutralize Russell’s penalty but now go back to the box after Yamamoto is called for boarding.

19:05: KING KOSK! The goaltender gets back into position quickly to kick away Duncan Keith’s point shot.

20:00: The second period begins with the Oilers shorthanded for another 1:11.

FIRST PERIOD

0.0: Toews’ late one puts the Blackhawks ahead for the second period. Shots are even at nine apiece for both sides.

4.2: The puck trickles in off Toews. Chicago goes up 2-1 on the power play. | CHI 2, EDM 1

49.2: Not enough penalties in this game so Russell gets called for holding. Blackhawks get 49 seconds of 5-on-3 time now.

2:00: Now Kailer Yamamoto gets flagged for holding the stick. Usually, they put the whistles away in playoffs…

3:33: Dominik Kubalik quickly nullifies the ‘Hawks power play by taking an interference minor.

3:49: Josh Archibald is called for high sticking. Edmonton goes to the penalty kill for the first time now.

4:46: A mad scramble ensues before Mikko Koskinen but the Oilers do a good job of clearing out any danger. Shots are 7-5 Oil.

6:19: Zack Kassian corrals the puck in the slot then spins off a backhander that Corey Crawford holds for the whistle.

8:20: Andreas Athanasiou – coming off a great Game 2 performance – sniffs around Chicago’s net and gets close but can’t find twine.

10:18: THE DEUTSCHLAND DANGLER! Leon Draisaitl deposits Tyler Ennis’ feed in front to tie it up less than a minute after the Blackhawks gained the lead! That’s Draisaitl’s second goal of the series! | EDM 1, CHI 1

10:46: Olli Maatta’s point shot catches Russell in the shin and deflects in as the ‘Hawks open the scoring in Game 3. | CHI 1, EDM 0

14:39: Kirby Dach gets a chance in-tight shorthanded but can’t handle the puck then after the Oilers power play expired he dings the iron. Oilers fail to get anything going on their first man advantage tonight and are still without a shot on goal.

17:07: Jonathan Toews hooks Ethan Bear as he tries to get in on the attack. Oilers get the game’s first power play!

20:00: The puck has DROPPED! It looks as though Adam Larsson will be out for the Oilers. Kris Russell gets moved up to the right side of Oscar Klefbom and Caleb Jones enters the third pairing with Matt Benning.
