6:19: Tempers started to flare between the two sides with some pushing and shoving in the corner of the Coyotes zone.
9:03: Penalty killed. Coyotes now lead the Oilers 28-16 on the shot clock.
12:43: Talbot tripped up Lawson Crouse as the Coyotes rookie tried to skate in behind the Oilers net. Result was a two-minute penalty and another Coyotes man advantage.

9:16: After the McDavid goal, the play was carried by the Coyotes for a good portion of the opening frame. Shots on goal midway through the period were 14-7 for the home team.
13:52: Arizona looked to have tied the game up on a weird bounce. The puck was under Talbot’s pad and blocker very close to the goal line. It went to a review. Sure enough, it was waved off.
18:29: On the very next shift, Connor McDavid got in behind the Coyotes defence and wired a shot high blocker side past Mike Smith to get Edmonton on the board. | EDM 1, ARI 0

18:58: Trouble early on as a Coyotes shot on goal had a dangerous rebound in front. Jamie McGinn tried to backhand it by Talbot but the Oilers netminder got his pad on it.
