18:31: Shore zings one in off a clean Ducks faceoff win to make it 5-0 Ducks. That’s his 10th goal of the season. | ANA 5, EDM 0

18:33: The Ducks hop out the gate with early pressure, forcing Stolarz to be alive in goal.

SECOND PERIOD

0.0: Edmonton kills Gambardella’s minor but remain four goals back after Rakell’s three-goal middle period. Shots after 40 are 22-18 Anaheim.

2:18: Joe Gambardella gets two for hooking. Oilers go shorthanded for two minutes.

2:59: Stolarz makes an emphatic glove save on Devin Shore’s shot.

4:47: Rakell registers a second-period natural hat trick, launching a shot from the left side. Oilers Head Coach Ken Hitchcock pulls Koskinen, bringing in Anthony Stolarz in relief. Koskinen ended the night with 17 saves on 21 shots.

8:38: The Oilers put ALL SORTS of pressure on the Ducks while on the man advantage but can’t beat John Gibson.

3:06: Koskinen rebounds with two big saves off a pair of Ducks point shots.

4:43: Koskinen gets a piece of Corey Perry’s wrist shot but not enough as it trickles in behind him. | ANA 1, EDM 0

5:09: Jakob Silfverberg dings both posts with a slap shot but the puck stays out.

6:01: Kris Russell’s point shot rebounds off the end boards and squirts back into the Ducks’ crease, finding its way onto Darnell Nurse’s tape but the defender couldn’t score with the backhand. Shots are 6-5 Edmonton.

12:29: Connor McDavid and Sam Carrick collide in the neutral zone, with the Oilers Captain going airborne but getting right up to dish Leon Draisaitl a one-timer, which went wide.

16:11: Ducks defenceman Jake Dotchin leaves the bench after a lengthy meeting with coach Bob Murray and the refs. Ducks could be down a defender.

18:52: Ducks forward and Sherwood Park product Sam Steel whips the game’s first shot at Mikko Koskinen from the high slot but the netminder makes a chest save.
