14:42: the Ducks continue to own the period, out-shooting Edmonton 6-1 in the final frame.

18:31: Shore zings one in off a clean Ducks faceoff win to make it 5-0 Ducks. That’s his 10th goal of the season. | ANA 5, EDM 0

18:33: The Ducks hop out the gate with early pressure, forcing Stolarz to be alive in goal.

20:00: The third period has begun.

SECOND PERIOD

0.0: Edmonton kills Gambardella’s minor but remain four goals back after Rakell’s three-goal middle period. Shots after 40 are 22-18 Anaheim.

2:18: Joe Gambardella gets two for hooking. Oilers go shorthanded for two minutes.

2:59: Stolarz makes an emphatic glove save on Devin Shore’s shot.

4:47: Rakell registers a second-period natural hat trick, launching a shot from the left side. Oilers Head Coach Ken Hitchcock pulls Koskinen, bringing in Anthony Stolarz in relief. Koskinen ended the night with 17 saves on 21 shots.

5:17: Max Jones rips a shot from the slot but Koskinen eats it with his shoulder.

8:38: The Oilers put ALL SORTS of pressure on the Ducks while on the man advantage but can’t beat John Gibson.

10:13: Hampus Lindholm gets two minutes for hooking. The Orange & Blue will get their first power play of the night.

11:12: Anaheim administers extended pressure in the offensive zone, cycling the puck and getting point shots. The sequence is capped with Rakell notching his second of the period as he slammed home a rebound on the doorstep. | ANA 3, EDM 0

13:40: Chase De Leo zips inside the Oilers zone and flings a wrist shot at Koskinen in stride but the keeper gloves it down. Shots are 4-2 Edmonton in the second.

18:39: Rickard Rakell snipes top corner from the left dot to notch his 16th of the year. Ducks now lead by a pair. | ANA 2, EDM 0

20:00: The second period has begun.

FIRST PERIOD

0.0: Zack Kassian springs Draisaitl on a breakaway but the German doesn’t convert. Perry’s sixth of the season gives Anaheim the 1-0 to enter the second period.

3:06: Koskinen rebounds with two big saves off a pair of Ducks point shots.

4:43: Koskinen gets a piece of Corey Perry’s wrist shot but not enough as it trickles in behind him. | ANA 1, EDM 0

5:09: Jakob Silfverberg dings both posts with a slap shot but the puck stays out.

6:01: Kris Russell’s point shot rebounds off the end boards and squirts back into the Ducks’ crease, finding its way onto Darnell Nurse’s tape but the defender couldn’t score with the backhand. Shots are 6-5 Edmonton.

12:29: Connor McDavid and Sam Carrick collide in the neutral zone, with the Oilers Captain going airborne but getting right up to dish Leon Draisaitl a one-timer, which went wide.

Ducks had Troy Terry on their list of players dressed and he’s hurt and had Jake Dotchin scratched but he was on the bench. So Dotchin had to go to the dressing room. Coaching mistake by the GM…

18:52: Ducks forward and Sherwood Park product Sam Steel whips the game’s first shot at Mikko Koskinen from the high slot but the netminder makes a chest save.
