14:45: Kris Russell was clipped by Jason Zucker and ran into the net. He was shaken up on the play and went to the dressing room for repairs. Zucker got two minutes for interference to send the Oilers on the power play.
17:10: Joel Eriksson Ek was alone in front and quickly one-timed a feed from the slot in past Talbot to draw the Wild within a goal. | EDM 2, MIN 1

SECOND PERIOD
0.0: After two periods, shots on goal were 21-13 for Minnesota. Wild outshot the Oilers 15-5 in the middle frame but the loan goal was scored by Edmonton.
5:23: Oilers did an excellent job staving off the Wild attack on the ensuing man advantage. Shots on goal now 17-13 for Minnesota with just over five minutes to play.
9:42: Matt Benning got called for cross-checking after Minnesota had a flurry of chances in front of the net. Talbot made some big stops as the Wild swarmed the crease for a handful of chances. Shots on goal were 17-12 for the Wild, who were headed to their first power play.
15:28: RATTIE-FIED! Nugent-Hopkins made an excellent play to centre the puck over to Ty Rattie whose quick release snuck by Dubnyk just off the ice to double the Oilers lead. | EDM 2, MIN 0

17:20: Matt Benning gave the puck up on the breakout at the blueline to Charlie Coyle to create a two-on-one for the Wild. Coyle tried to pass the puck over to Zach Parise but Benning recovered nicely and deflected the puck away.

FIRST PERIOD
0.0: After one, shots were 8-6 for the Oilers.
2:24: Talbot misplayed the puck behind his own net and Eric Staal tried to pounce on it but Talbot was quick to fall on the puck in the crease and smother it.
3:37: Dubnyk made a big save off Colby Cave after the Oilers forward made a great move in front of the net to pounce on a rebound off an Adam Larsson point shot.
7:54: Shots were 5-3 for the Oilers with less than eight minutes to go in the first.
10:18: Hitchcock returned to the Oilers bench after getting a puck up high about 10 minutes earlier.
13:02: Shots on goal were 3-0 Oilers almost seven minutes in.
14:40: A puck went into the Oilers bench and clipped Oilers head coach Ken Hitchcock in the face. He went into the dressing room to get looked at.
17:20: Ty Rattie was clipped by Ryan Suter deep in the Wild zone and the result was an interference call on the Wild defender and the Oilers first power play of the night.
17:45: HELLO NURSE! Darnell Nurse one-timed a blast from the left point, after Zack Kassian skated into the zone then dished it to Connor McDavid. McDavid quickly spotted Nurse cruising into the zone and backhanded a feed to him at the point. His shot beat Dubnyk high. | EDM 1, MIN 0
