1:07: BACK AND FORTH! Nurse saves a goal at the Oilers end then Draisaitl goes 1-on-1 against Markstrom but gets stopped.

3:56: Nugent-Hopkins’ shot from the slot is stopped then Russell’s rebound is negated right after.

5:00: Overtime has begun.

THIRD PERIOD

0.0: Jake Virtanen slices through the Oilers defence for a partial break late but can’t beat Koskinen. We’re headed to overtime. Both sides salvage a point.

2:00: The two sides are still deadlocked at 2-2 with two minutes left in regulation. Shots are 8-6 Van in the third.

5:03: The Canucks continue causing chaos in the Oilers crease but Koskinen keeps the door shut.

9:39: Oilers don’t find the go-ahead marker on the power play.

11:55: Alex Edler stick taps Draisaitl, warranting a slashing penalty. Oilers to the man advantage. The club is 1-for-2 tonight.

15:00 Sven Baertschi finds Horvat at the side of the net but Koskinen gets across for the stop.

15:18: A shot is sent up and out of play in the Oilers zone then some extracurricular activities take place as Russell and Jay Beagle get into a skirmish.

17:06: Kyle Brodziak gets a weak shot off on Markstrom and the ‘tender holds it.

17:43: The Canucks throw a few bouncing pucks at Koskinen and the keeper gloves them up.

20:00: The third period has begun.

SECOND PERIOD

0.0: Granlund scores the only goal of the second period. The score is 2-2 heading into the final stanza. Oilers are up in the shot count 18-11.

1:06: Vancouver appeared to score after Ben Hutton goes high glove on Koskinen. Head Coach Ken Hitchcock contests the goal with his coach’s challenge and wins it. Still 2-2 here in Vancouver.

2:21: Darnell Nurse receives two minutes for cross-checking. Edmonton back shorthanded once again.

2:58: Oilers get another big kill. The visitors lead the shot department 17-10.

4:59: Caleb Jones is called for delay of game after covering the puck with his hand.

10:08: Markus Granlund gets the puck in front of the net and roofs it past Koskinen to knot it up. | EDM 2, VAN 2

11:27: Oilers kill the penalty.

14:21: Leon Draisaitl goes off for hooking. Edmonton returns to the kill.

17:05: RUSSELL AGAIN! The defender helps out his goalkeeper once again by keeping a puck from getting past the goal-line in the crease.

18:16: Khaira finds Colby Cave all alone on the wing but his shot is stymied.

19:09: Adam Larsson sees a lane in the Canucks’ zone, takes it and fires one at the net but Markstrom snares it.

20:00: The second period has started.

FIRST PERIOD

0.0: McDavid’s late wrister is the difference after 20. Oilers take a 2-1 lead into the second.

56.3: SNIPE CITY! McDavid cuts into the Canucks’ zone, stickhandles then releases a laser through Christopher Tanev’s skates to snipe his 29th of the campaign on the power play. | EDM 2, VAN 1

2:41: Matt Benning and Antoine Roussel drop the mitts but it doesn’t last too long as both players fall to the ice. Roussel gets an extra two minutes for roughing, giving the Oilers another power play.

3:05: As the crowd traded raucous cheers, Kris Russell watched the puck squirt 5-hole past Koskinen, getting his blade on it before it crossed the goal-line to keep things tied at 1-1.

4:34: Edmonton fails to capitalize on their first power play. The continue to lead the shot count 9-4.

6:58: Loui Eriksson sends the puck out of play, meaning the Oilers will get their first power play of the night as he goes off for delay of game.

7:33: The puck pops out to Sutter in the slot and he is denied by Koskinen up close.

8:22: The Oilers get lucky as Bo Horvat sends a backhander across the goal crease while the net was wide open.

11:07: Brandon Sutter replies for the Canucks. He fired a shot from the half wall that beat Mikko Koskinen under his glove arm. | EDM 1, VAN 1

12:25: JUJHARIOUS! While killing the penalty, Khaira takes the puck into the Canucks’ zone all alone, weaves his way through the opposing team then caps the play with a wrist shot far side to open the scoring shorthanded. That’s Khaira’s third of the year, while Ryan Nugent-Hopkins gets the lone helper. | EDM 1, VAN 0

13:00: Connor McDavid gets called for high-sticking. Oilers go to the penalty kill.

13:34: Jujhar Khaira wheels down the wing and sends a wrister at Markstrom, which gets stopped. Milan Lucic, who hails from Vancouver, later stickhandles the puck as the crowd cheers his name. The Oilers are out-shooting the Canucks 4-1 through the opening six minutes of the game.

17:17: Alex Chiasson corrals the puck at the Canucks’ goal-line and tries to go far side with a backhander but Jacob Markstrom gets his pad across to keep it out.

20:00: Tonight’s game has begun!
