0.0: Calgary rallies to defeat the Oilers 3-2 in a heated Battle of Alberta. Oilers face the Golden Knights on Sunday.

41.8: Lindholm ices it for the empty-netter.  Flames gain some insurance. | CGY 4, EDM 2

0.48: Koskinen heads to the bench as the Oilers look for the tying goal. Benning puts a shot on net and all the Oilers crash the blue paint.

3:08: Flames manage the puck with the cycle in the Oilers zone.

5:16: Flames stay hot in the third period, driving much of the play. Koskinen stops Giordano’s one-timer from the right. Oilers looking to knot it up late.

10:50: Lindholm hacks at a rebound and it slips through Koskinen. Flames overturn a 2-0 deficit, scoring three unanswered to now lead 3-2. They are outshooting the Oilers 12-1 in the third 12-1. | CGY 3, EDM 2

11:31: James Neal walks out from the corner and zips one from a tight angle at Koskinen.

14:14: Koskinen peaks through a maze of bodies to glove down T.J. Brodie’s point shot.

17:20: Oilers get hemmed in their own zone and Monahan caps the play with the equalizer. That’s his 10th of the season. | EDM 2, CGY 2

20:00: The third period has begun.

SECOND PERIOD

0.0: Koskinen makes a big stop on Elias Lindholm shorthanded. Oilers and Flames trade goals in the middle period. McDavid gets one for the visitors and Ryan for the home side. The Orange & Blue lead 2-1 after 40.

2:02: Kassian buzzes around the Flames’ net, shooting just wide from the right side. His effort rewards the Oilers, as he draws an interference penalty against Rasmus Andersson.

3:37: Jujhar Khaira is robbed by Rittich on a shorthanded breakaway. The Flames go back the other way and Derek Ryan scores on the man advantage. Calgary gets on the board and cuts the deficit to one. | EDM 2, CGY 1

4:48: Things get mucky in the Oilers corner, with bodies falling all over the ice. Adam Larsson receives a holding penalty.

7:48: Gaudreau tries to go high from a sharp angle but Koskinen stops the puck with his shoulder.

9:53: Newly-acquired forward Ryan Spooner shows his wheels up the neutral zone then fires a shot on net through a defender.

11:53: Oilers do a good job of keeping the Flames to the outside on their power play.

14:59: Lucic catches Mark Giordano in his trolley tracks. Draisaitl gets called for tripping.

16:11: THE CAPTAIN! Draisaitl puts it on a tee for McDavid on a 2-on-1 and he slams home his 11th of the year. That’s McDavid’s sixth power play goal of the season and 27th point. Oilers up by a deuce. | EDM 2, CGY 0

17:25: Ryan Nugent-hopkins curls within the offensive zone and snaps one at Rittich.

18:30: Draisaitl gets his second breakaway of the game, this time having his shot kicked aside by Rittich. The German is later high-sticked by Backlund, drawing blood. Backlund gets a double minor. The team’s will go 4-on-4 for over two minutes.

20:00: The second period has begun with the Flames on the power play.

FIRST PERIOD

0.0: No love lost in this Battle of Alberta. The first period ends with the Oilers up 1-0 thanks to Chiasson’s shorty. There have been 36 minutes of penalties doled out already. More fireworks headed our way in the second.

11.0: Zack Kassian gets a misconduct, giving the Flames four minutes of power-play time. He tries to fight Tkachuk but the Flames forward didn’t oblige.

2:43: Nurse’s wrister from the slot is saved by Rittich then the Flames take the puck the other way. Koskinen keeps their attempt off the rush out.

7:12: Milan Lucic joins the Oilers top line for a shift. Draisaitl gets stopped trying to go to his backhand on a breakaway. Shots are 7-7.

11:18: The Battle is heating up. Lots of rough stuff, even from the Oilers top line, going on. McDavid was hit by Mikael Backlund late, then the Oilers Captain wrestled him to the ground. Matthew Tkachuk and Draisaitl entered in defence of their teammates. Draisaitl, McDavid and Backlund all go to the box, giving the Flames a power play.

14:00: Mikko Koskinen stops Sean Monahan off the rush.

17:31: CHIASSON! The Oilers forward catches a bounce at the blueline then goes backhand tight on David Rittich. He puts the Oilers up 1-0 with a shorthanded goal. | EDM 1, CGY 0

18:01: Connor McDavid puts it on Drake Caggiula’s tape on the doorstep but the puck goes wide. Leon Draisaitl takes a penalty.

20:00: Tonight’s game will begin soon.
