THIRD PERIOD

0.0: Oilers drop their second in a row, losing 5-2 to the Tampa Bay Lightning. The club will look to end the road trip on a high note Thursday against Florida.

3:29: Oilers fail to convert on another man-advantage.

10:29: Milan Lucic is ejected from the game after interfering with Mathieu Joseph. He gets two for roughing, two for interference and a 10-minute misconduct. Oilers on the kill for four minutes now.

11:37: Kucherov shoots from the right circle and the puck leaks through Koskinen for his second of the game. Tampa by up three again. | TBL 5, EDM 2

12:34: Matt Benning goes off for slashing now, giving the Bolt’s 24 seconds of 5-on-3 time.

14:11: Tyler Johnson tries to cut to the net but Larsson negates his attempt. The Swede is called for hooking on the play.

19:20: DRAISAITL! Nugent-Hopkins kicks it to Rattie at the side of the net, who sweeps it to Draisaitl across the crease for a quick third-period marker. | TBL 4, EDM 2

20:00: The third period has begun.

SECOND PERIOD

0.0: Lightning add two more in the second while Strome finds the net for the Oilers. Edmonton down by three with 20 minutes left. The club will start the final stanza with 1:42 of power-play time.

18.7: Stralman goes off for slashing late in the period. Edmonton’s power play has been buzzing but they haven’t scored on it yet.

1:01: Kucherov goes high blocker on Koskinen. Tampa now up by three. | TBL 4, EDM 1

2:17: Cedric Paquette and Strome both go off for slashing. Back to 4-on-4 hockey.

6:41: Tampa Bay replies. Yanni Gourde’s high tip fools Koskinen. Bolts back up by two. | TBL 3, EDM 1

7:28: STROME! The centre finally gets his first point of the season, ripping a shot blocker side past Vasilevskiy. The monkey is officially off his back. Klefbom gets the lone helper. | TBL 2, EDM 1

8:56: McDavid gets called for holding. That’s his first penalty of the year. Teams will skate at 4-on-4.

9:23: The Orange & Blue go back to the power play after Nugent-Hopkins is tripped up trying to skate away from his own net.

10:52: Oilers keep the pressure on for the full two minutes on the man-advantage but Vasilevskiy doesn’t let anything past him. Draisaitl’s doorstep tip was kicked aside, McDavid’s wrister was bumped away and Nugent-Hopkins dings the iron.

15:12: J.T. Miller gets called for interference. Oilers get another shot at the man-advantage. Bolts have allowed just a single power-play goal against at home this season.

15:57: Nurse hammers one from the point, the puck goes in the air and trickles towards the goal-line but Ryan McDonagh clears the puck before it goes in.

18:01: Kris Russell makes a great defensive effort to disrupt Stamkos from behind on a 3-on-2.

20:00: The second period has begun.

FIRST PERIOD

0.0: Edmonton gets scored on early and late in the first period in Tampa. Goals from Stamkos and Point. Shots are 15-11 Lightning.

25.1: Brayden Point cleans up the garbage in front of Koskinen. That’s his ninth of the year. | TBL 2, EDM 0

49.9: Kassian beats a defender on the wing then gets a shot off in stride. Vasilevskiy makes the stop with his chest.

5:15: Leon Draisaitl’s shot on a partial break is kicked aside by Vasilevskiy. Adam Larsson tries to find the German in the high slot right after and his deflection goes wide.

7:16: McDavid takes a bank pass from Nugent-Hopkins and cuts to the net but is thwarted by a Lightning defender. The Oilers Captain follows it up with a 2-on-1 with Rattie, electing to shoot but he misses the cage.

9:18: Vasilevskiy gets a piece of Darnell Nurse’s slap shot but not all of it, as it hits the post. The netminder covers the puck to avert any danger.

13:23: Ryan Nugent-Hopkins causes a turnover and almost catches Vasilevskiy off guard then Rattie takes a slashing penalty. Oilers to the kill for the first time tonight.

13:49: Connor McDavid jukes through Anton Stralman then feeds Ty Rattie behind his back but Rattie’s shot is stopped with a diving save by Andrei Vasilevskiy.

15:20: Stamkos wires one glove side to open the scoring. Oilers still without a shot in the game. Tampa is up to six. | TBL 1, EDM 0

15:57: MIKKO! The goalkeeper stops Adam Erne twice in one shift, first on his one-timer from the slot then on his 5-hole break at the net.

17:24: Mikko Koskinen gobbles up Braydon Coburn’s point shot.

20:00: Tonight’s game has begun!
