14:33: Wood won a battle on the side boards and pushed the puck forward to Zajac in front. Zajac put the puck through Talbot’s legs to give New Jersey a three-goal lead. | NJ 4, EDM 1

SECOND PERIOD
0.0: Shots on goal in the second period were 10-4; overall 19-11 for the Devils in the game.
5.5: Puljujarvi nearly scored with a redirection late in the third period after a Devils giveaway at their own blueline but Kinkaid was quick to get back in position and kick out his left pad for the save.
3:05: Oilers had a lot of pressure in the Devils zone during the power play but no shots on goal.
5:21: Brian Boyle tripped up Oscar Klefbom in the netural zone, sending the Oilers to the power play with a chance to try and steal back some momentum.
6:36: Talbot made a nice stop on a quick wrister along the ice from Taylor Hall to keep the Oilers within two.
10:34: Shots on goal were 16-7 for New Jersey almost halfway through the game; 7-0 in the period.
13:34: Darnell Nurse was sent off for holding to give the Devils their second man advantage of the period.

FIRST PERIOD
0.0: After one, shots on goal were 9-7 for New Jersey.
12.4: Talbot faced a flurry of shots but stood tall, particularly on a point-blank blast from Will Butcher.
4:46: New Jersey continued its parade to the penalty box when Kyle Palmieri got his hands up in the head of Evan Bouchard who was trying to play a puck in the air. Palmieri was penalized for roughing.
6:31: Devils successfully killed off that power play without allowing a shot.
9:26: Edmonton had a second power play opportunity just past the midway point of the opening frame. Stefan Noesen headed to the box.
10:51: Kincaid stuck out his right pad and made a nice stop on Ryan Nugent-Hopkins who one-timed a shot from the low slot.
12:05: Shots on goal were 6-3 for the Devils with just over 12 minutes to play in the first.

19:02: It took the Devils only 58 seconds to get on the board. Kyle Palmieri took the puck off the boards and drove to he net. He wired a shot high over the shoulder of Cam Talbot to make it 1-0 for New Jersey. | NJ 1, EDM 0
