2:15: NOT AGAIN!! The Oilers pot the empty netter courtesy of Derick Brassard, but again it’s called back for a close offside.

6:25: Brassard crashes the net for the Oilers 40th shot of the game, but the save is made by DeSmith.

10:47: THE CAPTAIN’S TURN TO GET IN ON THE ACTION!!! Connor picks up the puck on the powerplay and roofs a shot from a sharp angle past DeSmith. Make it a four-point night for Connor!!

15:50: ZACH ATTACK!!! On the power-play!! Nugent-Hopkins dives in from the point and wrists a shot on DeSmith, the rebound is scooped up by Hyman and he slots it past the Penguins goalie for the PPG!

20:00: Game back on! Just 20 to go at PPG Paint Arena!

SECOND PERIOD

0:00: Period over! Edmonton and Pittsburgh trade goals from Kane and Matheson just 25 seconds apart, as the Oilers lead on the road with 20 minutes remaining.

2:43: STONEWALL SMITTY!!! The Penguins get four quick opportunities in short succession on the powerplay but they can’t get anything by Smith!

9:29: Oiler Powerplay! Draisaitl dumps and chases the puck into the zone, but Marcus Pettersson interferes with a hip-check.

14:12: OILERS ANSWER RIGHT BACK!!! The line of McDavid, Yamamoto, and Kane play tic-tac-toe with Evander slapping the backhand pass from Yams by DeSmith! That’s Kane’s fourth straight game with a goal!!!

14:37: Goal Penguins. Right as the penalty expires, Mike Matheson blasts a shot wide of the net that banks off the board directly on the tape of Jeff Carter and he makes no mistake.

16:38: Oilers to the PK. After a seeing-eye shot clatters off the post beside Smith, Brassard hauls down Teddy Blueger to potentially save a goal.

18:02: BOUCH X2!!! Or… it could have been. After the Oilers defenceman scores a very similar goal to his first one, the play is challenged and deemed offside entering the Pens zone.

20:00: Back underway in Pittsburgh!

12:15: Kane with the chance! The red hot winger streaks up the middle on a breakaway but is denied by DeSmith!

15:15: Smitty holds STRONG! The Penguins jam away at a loose puck in front of Smith, but the vet says no!

16:08: YAMS! Oilers buzz in front of Casey DeSmith, with Yamamoto collecting the rebound and narrowly scoring on the wrap-around.

20:00: Puck drop in Pittsburgh! Game on!

20:00: Both teams have hit the ice for warmups.
