7:26: Tom Gilbert took a tripping penalty, giving the Oilers a chance to net the insurance marker.

10:15: The Kings drew within a goal once again after Brayden McNabb’s goal made it a 3-2 game. | EDM 3, LA 2

13:21: Campbell made a nice glove grab off Benoit Pouliot after the Oilers winger slapped the puck from the left circle.

14:31: Edmonton got that goal right back less than a minute later. McDavid fed Eberle across the slot and Eberle one-timed it over Campbell to regain that two-goal edge for the Oilers. | EDM 3, LA 1

15:10: L.A. finally broke the goose egg on a wrist shot from the point by Paul LaDue 4:50 into the third. | EDM 2, LA 1

18:00: Kings rattled off three shots in the opening two minutes of period three. Shots now 20-16 L.A.

SECOND PERIOD

0.0: Shots after 40 minutes were 17-16 for the Kings.

3:46: Kings killed off the five-minute penalty. Shots were 16-14 for Edmonton.

9:00: Davidson got injured in the neutral zone after getting a shoulder to the chin at the hands of Tanner Pearson. On the play while Davidson was down, the Oilers skated down and scored. However, the whistle blew and the goal was negated. Result of the play was a penalty for blow to the head and a game misconduct for Pearson.

10:00: Shots were 14-12 Edmonton midway through the game.

13:24: McDavid nearly scored on the man advantage, making a quick move at the top of the crease but Campbell was able to keep the puck out and keep it a two-goal affair.

14:07: Edmonton went on the power play for the first time after Brayden McNabb caught Drake Caggiula with a high stick.

16:34: A solid second effort from the side of the net gave Edmonton its second lead of the night. McDavid scooped up a loose puck and took a couple hacks at it before getting it past Campbell. | EDM 2, LA 0

4:15: In the dying seconds of the Kings man advantage, McDavid had a great chance off the rush. His backhand attempt was denied by Campbell.

6:14: The Kings went back on the power play after Jordan Eberle received two minutes for hooking.

10:28: The Oilers got on the board first with a wrist shot from Jesse Puljujarvi at the top of the right circle. The shot sailed over the blocker of Kings starting goaltender Jack Campbell to put Edmonton in front. | EDM 1, LA 0

12:50: Iiro Pakarinen fell awkwardly into the boards after getting tangled up with Matt Greene. He had to be helped off the ice, favouring his left leg.

13:10: Shots on goal were 2-1 Oilers almost seven minutes in.

15:00 Oilers killed off the penalty without allowing a shot on goal.

17:17: Mark Fraser received an interference penalty almost three minutes into the contest, giving the Kings the game’s first power play.
