OVERTIME

4:29: CAPTAIN CONNOR!!! Mike Smith makes a huge stop and shovels the puck to McDavid on the breakaway. The captain did what he does best, undressing Reimer with a quick forehand-backhand move for the game winner! The goal is his 41st of the season and makes for a 14 game point streak! Edmonton heads to Los Angeles on Thursday to take on the Kings, who they have just leap-frogged for second in the Pacific Division.

THIRD PERIOD

0:00: Time for some FREE Hockey! The Oilers tie the game courtesy of Nuge’s short-handed tally. Shots currently favour the home side 31-22.

1:27: Smitty with another HUGE stop, blocking Meier’s ninth shot attempt of the game!

8:04: SHORT-HANDED GOAL! Nuge buries the cross crease dish from Zach Hyman to pick up his 10th of the season! Nurse keeps the puck in the zone and passes the Hyman for the tic-tac-toe goal. Oilers draw even at 1-1! 

9:20: San Jose heads to their third power-play of the night as Brett Kulak wraps up Couture for a holding call.

19:02: Rudolfs Balcers almost adds to the Sharks lead with a tricky backhand off the far post.

20.00: Puck dropped! Twenty minutes left to get the job done!

SECOND PERIOD

0.00: The second period ends the same as the first, with the Sharks up a goal heading into the final frame. Oilers will start the third period with 36 seconds left on the power-play. Shots were dead even at 10 each.

1:24: Oilers power-play! McDavid makes life difficult for the Sharks defence and it results in a slash by Brent Burns.

8:00: Penalty… killed! Sharks get a couple of opportunities but Smith was up to the task.

10:00: Sharks are back on the power-play after Evan Bouchard is whistled for tripping. The young defender swiped at the puck, but ended up catching Nieto instead.

15:54: Smith flashes the leather!!! Meier is denied from the high slot by the glove of Smitty!

18:52: The second period starts with a flurry of action! Mike Smith gets the pad down on Couture and stops the follow up by Gregor. On the other end of the ice, Puljujarvi rips a low glove side shot on Reimer which is turned aside.

20.00: Back in action in San Jose!

FIRST PERIOD

0.00: First period ends with the home team up from a goal by Thomas Hertl. Shots are currently 10-7 San Jose.

0.54: Too close! Connor McDavid dashes through four Sharks before leaving a drop pass for Jesse Puljujarvi in the slot, but Reimer makes the stop just before the end of the first period!

4:28: Sharks strike first on the power-play. After Brent Burns holds the zone on the clearing attempt, a little power-play movement leads to a Thomas Hertl one-time goal from the right face-off circle. 

5:28: San Jose now heads to the man advantage as Devin Shore catches defenceman Ryan Merkley with an errant high stick.

7:45: Mike Smith once again flashes the pad, turning aside a streaking Noah Gregor slap-shot on a partial breakaway!

12:52: Mike Smith comes up BIG with a pair of saves. First stopping Sharks leading scorer Timo Meier then a big stop on Logan Couture!

16:09: Oilers head to the power-play following a hooking minor by Matt Nieto

20:00: GAME ON!!!
