THIRD PERIOD

0.0: The clock runs out and Edmonton loses this one. The Kings score three times in the last six minutes on an extended power play to pad their lead and sink the Oilers to their second loss on home ice & first two-game losing streak of the season. We’ll see you back here on Tuesday, when the Oilers host the Minnesota Wild.

5:22: Kempe, after taking the hit as part of the major penalty, scores on the PP to put the Kings ahead two. | LAK 3, EDM 1

6:33: Connor McDavid hits Kempe from behind and is ejected for boarding. It’s an unfortunate play and unfortunate timing. Kings will head to the PP for five minutes.

7:04: Foegele cuts to the net from behind goal and gets two good whacks, but Quick is equal to the task.

10:39: After having his shot blocked, Philip Broberg takes down Trevor Moore with a trip. LA will get its first man advantage of the night.

17:15: McLeod draws a tripping call with a good zone entry and skate behind the LA net. Back to the PP we go!

18:18: Adrian Kempe lets fly an unstoppable wrist shot that beats Koskinen. Another early goal fiven up by the Oilers to begin this period. | LAK 2, EDM 0

FIRST PERIOD

0.0: We’re through 20 minutes, and the Oilers trail 1-0 on the scoreboard and 13-6 on the shot clock.

4:12: Ooof. Good glove save on Draisaitl by Quick, who was unlocked in front with a good passing play.

4:27: McDavid gets tripped up in the neutral zone by Alexander Edler as the puck was dumped in, sending the Oilers to the first PP of the night!

6:23: Oilers doing a great job of keeping possession in the LA zone, but lack scoring chances as seen in the 12-3 shot count in favour of the Kings.

14:23: Viktor Arvidsson flies down the left side and pings the crossbar. Close one for the Kings.

15:15: The Dynamic Duo, paired on the top line, get to work in LA’s zone with a good spell of possession.
