3:32: Jarry is pulled for the extra attacker. The Pens go for the 6-on-5 advantage early in search of two.
8:39: Hyman appears to complete the hat trick with a backhander from the side of the cage but the Penguins coaching staff challenge the play for offside to have the goal reversed. Oilers maintain the two-goal lead.
12:06: Ding ding, Bouch is at the back door! McDavid makes yet another precise pass on the rush to setup Evan Bouchard for his third of the campaign! The Oilers Captain gets his third helper of the night and that other superstar Leon Draisaitl also registers an assist for his 41st point! | EDM 4, PIT 2
13:01: Hyman unintentionally crashes into Marcus Pettersson at the Penguins’ blueline and is sent to the box for interference. The teams will go 4-on-4 for less than a minute before Pittsburgh gets an abbreviated power play.
14:01: Letang takes a slashing minor. The Oilers look for the first goal on the power play tonight on their third attempt.
14:37: Jesse Puljujärvi collides with a Pens skater and skates directly to the bench, retreating to the dressing room.
17:17: YAMS 🍠! Barrie rips a shot from the point and Yamamoto deflects it in to provide the Orange & Blue with the third-period advantage. Yamamoto has five goals on the season and Barrie collects his 10th assist and 13th point. Kris Russell, the NHL’s all-time leader in blocked shots, gets the secondary assist.| EDM 3, PIT 2

SECOND PERIOD
0.0: The Oilers survive a second-period onslaught by the Penguins, being out-shot 15-5 but remaining in the game with the performance of Koskinen. He’s up to 24 saves on the evening while the Oilers have 13 shots on goal.
4:36: Space opens up down the middle and Kailer Yamamoto walks in all alone from downtown only to be dismissed by Jarry on the team’s second shot of the period.
9:58: Benson bumps into Jarry and gets directed to the box for goaltender interference. The Penguins lead the shot count 9-1 in the 2nd and will head to the power play, which they are 0-for-1 on thus far.
12:10: Koskinen safeguards the Oilers while shorthanded and then the power kill gets to work with Ryan Nugent-Hopkins springing Hyman for a breakaway but he’s denied by Jarry.
15:19: William Lagesson sends the puck out of play and gets called for delay of game. Edmonton goes down a man.
15:28: The Penguins put extended pressure on the home side with a lengthy shift in the Oilers zone, leading to a Guentzel wrist shot from the top of the key that’s handled by Koskinen.
19:00: Teddy Blueger completes the give-and-go with Evan Rodrigues to beat Koskinen blocker side as the Penguins tie it up once again. | EDM 2, PIT 2

FIRST PERIOD
0.0: Hyman’s two scores give Edmonton the 2-1 edge ahead of the second period. Koskinen was tested with 10 shots in the first while Jarry stopped four of six.
3:30: Zucker heads off for hooking as the Oilers go back on the man advantage.
3:44: Make that ✌️ for Hyman! The winger zips home a perfectly-placed pass from McDavid to notch his second of the period and 11th of the year. The helper goes to… you guessed it… No. 97! | EDM 2, PIT 1
5:05: Jake Guentzel finds some open space in the slot and swiftly puts back a one-timer to knot the score. Sidney Crosby gets on the scoresheet with the faceoff win to produce an assist. | EDM 1, PIT 1
6:27: Tyson Barrie winds up a directs a slapper on net that Tristan Jarry is able to get a pad on to help nullify Letang’s minor.
9:13: Tyler Benson gains the zone, then bides some time for Colton Sceviour to get open before threading a pass over to him for a great opportunity from the wing. Kris Letang is tagged with a hooking penalty as a result, giving the Oilers the game’s first man advantage.
13:08: Hype Man! Zach Hyman slices up the gut in the offensive zone then fires a wrister top corner to score his 10th of the season on the Oilers first shot on goal! Connor McDavid gets the lone assist for his 23rd assist and 37th point. | EDM 1, PIT 0
14:06: Jason Zucker shows some nifty stickhandling in close quarters to get a quick shot off on Koskinen but he kicks it away then gets back into position for a one-timer stop on Jeff Carter.
16:43: Brian Dumoulin staples Warren Foegele to the boards from behind but there’s no call on the play.
20:00: 97 versus 87, let the game begin! With Cody Ceci out, defender Markus Niemelainen makes his National Hockey League debut on the back end for the Oilers while Mikko Koskinen mans the crease!
