1:37: A Vegas hand pass causes a whistle. The home side pulls Lehner for the extra attacker in their pursuit of the equalizer.
2:57: Koskinen gets a cover to settle things down as the Oilers continue to lead with under three to play.
6:04: McDavid winds up and sifts in from the right side, moving to the middle of the ice before releasing a wrister on net that gets handled.
12:17: Alex Pietrangelo attacks from the top of the right circle and Koskinen is there, getting the whistle after his mask comes undone.
13:40: Koskinen gets across to prevent Marchessault’s one-timer from completing the comeback. McDavid is shaken up after the play but stays on the bench.

4:16: McDavid fights through checks to get ahead for a partial break but can’t keep the handle as he nears the net.

FIRST PERIOD
0.0: Late ones from RNH and Hyman put the Oilers up by a deuce while Koskinen ensures the blank slate in his end. Shots are 16-14 EDM after 20.
15.1: 2️⃣0️⃣0️⃣! Hyman battle off the backcheck of Mark Stone to go backhand on a partial breakaway for his ninth of the campaign and 200th career point! The workhorse scores a beautiful goal to notch the milestone marker. | EDM 2, VGK 0
2:10: SNIPE DOWN! Nugent-Hopkins picks the far side post for his second goal of the season as the Oilers open the scoring for the eighth time on the year. The lone helper goes to Tyson Barrie. | EDM 1, VGK 0
3:32: McDavid’s sneaky 5-hole slip is steered aside and Kailer Yamamoto’s rebound follow-up is kicked away as the Oilers continue to generate off the rush.
8:13: Another highlight-reel stop by Koskinen, who DENIES Reilly Smith’s one-timer. Marchessault is tagged with a slashing penalty, giving the Oilers their first man advantage.

8:54: ‘NO’ SAYS MIKKO! The keeper ROBS Jonathan Marchessault from up close and personal to maintain the scoreless game. Kriss Russell eats a shot on the penalty kill and is now the all-time NHL leader in blocked shots with 2,000 in his career, bypassing Brent Seabrook!
9:17: The Golden Knights threaten dangerously almost the full power play, then Derek Ryan causes a turnover to go the other way, flipping the puck over to Sceviour for odd-man rush attempt but he’s stopped by Lehner.
11:15: Lagesson takes a hit to make a play off the glass and out, and eventually sending it out of play. The refs discuss then decide to call him for delay of game. The Oilers go to the penalty kill.
13:00: McDavid drops for Kassian and he whips a quick shot on then the Oilers storm the blue paint for the rebound but it doesn’t pop out as Lehner covers for the whistle.
15:20: Colton Sceviour walks in on the right side and releases a riser that Robin Lehner gloves down.
18:23: Koskinen stones Max Pacioretty from the slot for his first feel of rubber tonight.
20:00: Puck dropped! The Oilers will look to end their three-game getaway with a winning record if they can defeat the Golden Knights. Zach Hyman and Zack Kassian surround Connor McDavid on the top unit while Kris Russell, Philip Broberg and William Lagesson fill the void left by the absence of Darnell Nurse, Duncan Keith and Slater Koekkoek.
