0.0: PLAY LA BAMBA! The Oilers improve to 7-1-0 on the year with a 5-2 victory over the Seattle Kraken! Draisaitl leads the way with two goals and two assists, while Koskinen secures his fifth win of the campaign with a 27-save effort! The Nashville Predators roll into town on Wednesday.

4:37: Hyman drives to the net and tries to stuff the puck past Daccord to no avail.

7:38: HELLO, YAMAMOTO! The snake-bitten Oiler slips the puck 5-hole on Daccord to FINALLY get the monkey off his back for his first of the year! | EDM 5, SEA 2

7:52: Koskinen ROBS Brandon Tanev at one end and then Joey Daccord shuts the door on a glorious opportunity by Zach Hyman on the doorstep.

13:36: Draisaitl appears to get a piece of Barrie’s point blast as the puck just skitters near the post.

15:45: Jeremy Lauzon is guilty of interfering Puljujärvi, meaning more power-play time for the Oilers.

SECOND PERIOD

0.0: The second period comes to a close with the Oilers still in front by a single. Shots are 20-11 in favour of Seattle through 40 minutes.

28.6: Wennberg heads to the sin bin for tripping Yamamoto. Edmonton gets an opportunity to go back up by a deuce.

4:42: Mikko Almighty! The net-protector keeps his pad down to absolutely STEAL a sure-goal from Wennberg. At the other end, McDavid muscles his way to the net and gets hauled down in the process but … no call. Max McCormick and Kassian get tangled up after the play, both receiving penalties.

7:51: Carson Soucy looks for a hole through Koskinen from the left circle but nothing is open. Seattle leads the shot count 11-2 in the second period and 17-6 overall but the Oilers remain ahead 3-1.

13:54: The Oilers kill Koekkoek’s penalty but Jesse Puljujärvi is flagged for tripping in the offensive zone, putting Seattle back up a man.

17:39: Slater Koekkoek is tagged with a slashing minor.

18:13: GRAB THAT PUCK! McDavid and Draisaitl play shinny in the offensive zone, working it to one another and making it look easy before setting up Duncan Keith for an easy open-netter. He has his first goal in an Oilers uniform! | EDM 3, SEA 1
