0.0: OILERS WIN! Hamblin, Ryan, Bourgault and Perlini score while Skinner and Konovalov share the shutout! Edmonton faces the Seattle Kraken at Rogers Place on Tuesday.
2:16: Werner makes two consecutive big saves on the line of Benson-McLeod-Marody. First on McLeod’s wraparound attempt and then on Benson’s one-timer from the back door.
5:13: ILYA! The keeper gets across to thwart Phillips’ net-front redirection off the rush. HUGE save by the Russian.
6:25: Lagesson takes a hooking penalty to give the Flames a man advantage late.
12:15: Slater Koekkoek puts a shot on and Bourgault gets his nose to the paint for the rebound but Werner gets the whistle.
16:35: William Lagesson flies down the wing and releases a wrister in stride but Werner gets his shoulder on the rubber. Oilers see the power plays expire.
19:45: Perlini cuts to the net and takes a whack on the hands from Rasmus Andersson. The Flames defender is called for slashing to give the Oilers a short two-man advantage.
20:00: The third period has begun with the Oilers on the power play.
SECOND PERIOD
0.0: The Oilers DOMINATE in the middle stanza, putting four goals up to take a 4-0 lead into the third frame. Hamblin, Ryan, Bourgault and Perlini get the goals.
1:35: Backlund slew foots Benson and is sent to the sin bin. Edmonton goes back to the power play.

9:58: The Oilers continue to carry much of the pressure, leading the shot department 23-8. Both clubs make goalie changes as Ilya Konovalov takes his position in the Oilers crease while Adam Werner does the same on the Flames’ side.

15:00: HAMBLIN ON! James Hamblin tracks the puck as it flies up high, settles it down and goes to his backhand on a partial break to slip one past Vladar and give the Oilers the opening goal. 15:57: The Flames stifle Edmonton’s attempt to get set up on the power play and kill Pitlick’s minor.
18:09: Ryan McLeod gains the zone and then gets dumped by Tyler Pitlick. The former Oiler is whistled for tripping. Edmonton goes back on the man advantage.
20:00: The second period has begun!
FIRST PERIOD
0.0: The first period comes to a close with the match still scoreless. The Oilers outshoot the Flames 13-5 in the opening 20.
4:37: Bouchard hammers another clapper from the point and Colton Sceviour mucks about the crease for the loose change but Vladar fastens his paddle to the ice for the stop. Edmonton currently leads the shot count 12-4.
8:47: Evan Bouchard tracks down the blueline, rips a slapshot and Benson digs for the rebound but can’t put it past Vladar. Flames get the kill to keep the game scoreless.
11:38: Matthew Phillips gets his twig tangled up with Xavier Bourgault in the neutral zone and is called for hooking as a result. Oilers go back to the man advantage.
12:16: The Oilers kill Calgary’s abbreviated powerplay with some help from Skinner as the keeper moves laterally to foil Mikael Backlund’s wrister from the right circle.
15:53: Tyler Benson tries to cut through Calgary’s crease but gets pushed into netminder Dan Vladar, warranting a goaltender interference penalty. The two sides will skate at 4-on-4.
16:44: Nikita Zadorov heads to the sin bin for cross-checking, giving the Oilers the game’s first power play.
20:00: Let the Battle begin! Devin Shore, Kyle Turris and Brendan Perlini start up front while Stuart Skinner is expected to be between the pipes for half of the game.
