0.0: Play Tarzan Boy! The Oilers defeat the Ottawa Senators for the sixth time this year with a 7-1 win. Draisaitl nets a hat trick and two assists and McDavid picks up a goal and two helpers. Smith stops 21 shots. The two teams will end the three-game series on Friday.
3:04: Nugent-Hopkins dishes to Puljujarvi for a one-timer from the right circle but his shot hits the post.
8:49: Evgenii Dadonov taps one in to break Smith’s shutout bid and get on the board. | EDM 7, OTT 1
12:25: 🎩🎓👒! McDavid rushes in then drops for Draisaitl, who makes no mistake and whips a shot past Murray for the hat trick! The Duo has a combined eight points on the night. That’s Draisaitl’s third regular-season hat trick of his career. | EDM 7, OTT 0
12:45: The Sens snap it around the Oilers zone but Tkachuk fails to cap the play as the puck just misses his blade near the net.
15:34: Yamamoto tries to saucer pass the puck over to Nurse on a 2-on-1 but it floats right into Murray’s breadbasket.
18:46: McDavid peddles to the net and nearly puts the puck in off an Ottawa skate in front but it goes just wide.
20:00: The puck has dropped on the third period.
SECOND PERIOD
0.0: The Oilers extend their lead by two in the middle period, getting goals from Draisaitl and Neal. Shots are 28-10 EDM after 40 minutes.
2:18: Smith flashes the leather twice shorthanded to keep the Senators off the board.
4:18: Tkachuk drives in on a partial break but kisses the iron with an in-flight wrister. The Senators have been limited to just six shots on goal. The visitors will get their first opportunity on the power play as Khaira heads off for hooking.
11:57: The Real Deal! James Neal beats Murray with a wrist shot from the top of the left circle. He collects his third goal of the year. Edmonton is running away with this one. | EDM 6, OTT 0
12:59: ZWEI ✌️! Nugent-Hopkins makes a great heads-up pass to Draisaitl at the side of the net for his second goal and fourth point of the evening. The German is up to 13 goals this year. Helpers go to RNH and McDavid. | EDM 5, OTT 0

16:31: Ryan Dzingel mixes it up with P. Russell and gets two for roughing. Edmonton goes back up a man.
16:38: Jesse Puljujärvi tries to clean up Lagesson’s rebound but puts his shot just wide. The Senators kill Tkachuk’s minor.
19:25: Brady Tkachuk takes an early interference penalty to give the Oilers their second man advantage of the night.

0.0: The Oilers put up a four-spot in the opening 20. Goals come courtesy of Nurse, Khaira, Draisaitl and McDavid. Smith stops four shots and even picks up his first point of the season with an apple on Draisaitl’s goal.
6:34: THE CAPTAIN! Connor McDavid goes blocker side to put the Oilers up by four in the first period. McDavid now has 16 goals this year. Draisaitl grabs his third point of the night and Nurse picks up a helper for his second tick of the period as well. | EDM 4, OTT 0
7:52: DEUTSCHLAND DANGLES! Draisaitl goes end-to-end to score a BEAUTIFUL individual effort goal. That’s his 12th of the season and second point tonight. Barrie and Smith register assists on the power-play goal. | EDM 3, OTT 0
8:51: Austin Watson runs into Smith and takes a goaltender interference penalty. The Oilers get the game’s first power play.
9:37: Patrick Russell hammers a one-timer in search of his first career National Hockey League goal but Murray gets across for the stop.
14:03: DOUBLE DOWN! Devin Shore intercepts an Ottawa pass then jumps on a 2-on-0 with Jujhar Khaira. Shore fakes deke then dishes to Khaira for an easy tap-in goal. | EDM 2, OTT 0
16:08: FIRST BLOOD! Darnell Nurse snaps a quick shot on from the blueline and it catches a deflection to elude goaltender Matt Murray. Nurse grabs his seventh goal of the season, with the helpers going to Leon Draisaitl and Tyson Barrie. | EDM 1, OTT 0
18:16: Kailer Yamamoto gets a great look from the top of the key but sends his wrist shot wide.
20:00: Tonight’s game has begun! Defenceman William Lagesson looks to slot in alongside fellow Swede Adam Larsson while Patrick Russell rounds out the forward group due to the absence of Kyle Turris. Mike Smith starts in net as the Oilers eye a sixth victory versus the Senators this season.
