0.0: Play Tarzan Boy! The Oilers edge the Senators 3-2 in the first of a three-game series. McDavid tallies two assists, Draisaitl scores the game-winning goal and Koskinen makes 26 saves for the Oilers second win in a row! The two sides will play again on Wednesday.
4:37: McDavid busts in all alone and tries to muscle the puck in on his forehand but Daccord shuts the door.
5:39: Turris looks for Khaira at the side of the net from the slot but the two can’t connect. Edmonton holds on to their one-goal lead with just under six minutes remaining.
11:13: Khaira swipes at the puck but brings Stützle down in the process. The Oilers forward will sit two minutes for tripping.
12:13: Dzingel makes a deft deflection before Koskinen but the Finn is there for the save. He has 19 stops tonight.
13:21: Shots are 3-2 Edmonton in the third as little space is being given up in the final 20.
15:01: Ethan Bear and Nugent-Hopkins dish it a few times before Bear puts a sharp-angle shot on Daccord, who stymies the attempt.
20:00: The puck has dropped on the third period. Edmonton is looking to start this three-game set on the right foot.

SECOND PERIOD
0.0: Chiasson strikes on the power play and Draisaitl drills home his 11th but Stützle keeps the Senators in it with a late wrister. Edmonton carries a one-goal lead into the final period and are out-shooting the visitors 28-17.
2:03: Stützle goes top shelf through a screen to cut Ottawa’s deficit to one. | EDM 3, OTT 2
5:19: INSURANCE! Draisaitl accepts a feed from Turris and hammers a shot off the rush to give the Oilers a two-goal lead! The German collects goal No. 11 of the season with the tally. Turris and Barrie get the assists. | EDM 3, OTT 1
8:41: Thomas Chabot jumps in from the point and zips a quick snap shot on Koskinen but the goaltender steps out for the stop.
11:36: Ryan Dzingel has his stick tangled up with Tyson Barrie and gets called for hooking.
13:57: CHIASSON! Alex Chiasson walks in and snipes Daccord blocker side after Koskinen and McDavid deliver the puck up while the Senators penalty killers were changing. Chiasson has five goals on the year now while No. 97 nets his 30th assist of the season and second of the night. Koskinen factors in on the play with a secondary helper, and now has a pair of assists in ’20-21. | EDM 2, OTT 1
15:52: The two sides jump out to some free-flowing hockey early in the middle period, with chances traded at both ends. Draisaitl-McDavid-Yamamoto get to work in the offensive zone and force the Sens to take a penalty as Nikita Zaitsev goes off for slashing.

FIRST PERIOD
0.0: The Oilers kill Puljujarvi’s minor to exit the frame even at 1-1. Shots are 13-6 EDM through 20.
2:44: Puljujarvi sends the puck out of play in the defensive zone, warranting a delay of game minor.
3:39: McDavid and Draisaitl show why they are the best in the world and even better together, finding one another all over the ice to make defending difficult for the Senators.
6:34: Daccord denies Khaira with his chest after the Oilers forward had a glorious opportunity from the slot.
9:45: Kyle Turris makes a great cross-ice pass to Alex Chiasson for a one-timer but he is robbed by Daccord. The Oilers are goal-less on their first man advantage.
12:18: Mike Reilly is whistled for high sticking Nugent-Hopkins. The Oilers get the game’s first power play.

18:17: Jujhar Khaira collides with Josh Norris in the neutral zone, catching his knees, and Erik Gudbranson doesn’t like the hit and the two drop their gloves in the Oilers zone. Khaira gets two minutes for tripping and a fighting major. Gudbranson gets two minutes for instigating, a five-minute fighting major and a 10-minute misconduct.
