OVERTIME
3:52: CHIASSONNNNNNNN!!! IT’S ALL OVER!!! He rips it low left and the Oilers win it on the power play in overtime! Koskinen makes a massive 42 saves and is ‘The Lone Star’ in this contest as he leads the Oilers to a third-straight win. See you Thursday in Chicago! EDM 2, DAL 1
4:24: Nuge is tripped up then Khudobin makes a great save on McDavid on the follow-up at the back door. We’ll head to the power play, though! Timeout Oilers.
5:00: Nuge, McDavid and Nurse start us out.
THIRD PERIOD
0.0: IT’S A POINT! The Oilers will exit American Airlines Center with a point, but the Oilers will try to win this in overtime for their netminder.
51.3: PENALTY KILLED! Less than a minute to go in regulation.
2:53: Penalty kill is going to have to come up big at a crucial time for the Oilers as Larsson heads to the box for highsticking.
5:55: We’re in the endgame, now. Let’s win this one for our netminder in the final stretch!
7:49: Mikko is LOCKED IN. 40 saves for the big man and we’re still tied at one.
13:18: Klingberg up top with the one-timer. Tie game. EDM 1, DAL 1
14:02: Athanasiou marched back to the box for the second time tonight after getting his twig between the legs of Roope Hintz.
20:00: Here we go for the final 20 minutes. Let’s shut ‘er down.
SECOND PERIOD
0.0: We’re getting doubled up in shots 31-15 but a conversion by Nugent-Hopkins on the power play has the Oilers ahead 1-0 through 40 minutes.
This doubles as an end-of-period/Mikko-appreciation tweet. We lead 1-0 after 40. #LetsGoOilers pic.twitter.com/V0MPBrgbKK

0:53: Athanasiou out of the box for a breakaway but he’s STOPPED by Khudobin!
2:58: Andreas Athanasiou with the hook. We’ll be short.
4:22: Can’t make it happen with the 5-on-3. Rats.
6:22: Oilers are gonna get an extended look at 5-on-3 with Blake Comeau dangerously crosschecking Nurse.
7:08: Make your bed, you’re gonna have to sleep in it Corey Perry. Off to the box you go for tripping.
12:36: NUUUUUUUGE!!! Power-play goal! It may be against the run of play with the shots 25-9 for Dallas, but we’re ahead. Nuge wrist shot doesn’t leave the ice surface but it slides five-hole under Khudobin as the Stars penalty was near expiry. Darnell Nurse gets the primary assist and Leon Draisaitl keeps ticking with the secondary helper. EDM 1, DAL 0
14:18: Chiasson streaks in from a change takes a feed from Draisaitl, hitting the post with the follow-up shot. Chiasser draws the crosscheck in the process and we’ll get our second man advantage.
16:26: The Stars’ siege continues into the second period as they pepper Koskinen. Shots are 22-6 for the home side.
17:39: Leon tags Seguin with a slash and takes two minutes for it.
20:00: Back on the ice for the second period! Let’s go!
FIRST PERIOD
0.0: That’ll do it for a busy first period, but no goals to show for it. Mikko solid with 16 stops.

1:48: Khudobin’s been limited in his action but the Stars netminder just robbed Darnell Nurse on an open look after Neal unlocked the Oilers blueliner with a backhand pass.
3:16: The Oilers PK and Koskinen are keeping us in the game right now. A couple of shots for the Stars on that one and it remains 0-0, but we’re down 14-4 on the shot clock.
5:16: Tough change for the Oilers leads to a Too Many Men infraction. Back to the penalty kill we go.
7:29: Koski-no goals allowed so far as the Finn comes up with another crucial denial. Oilers getting outshot 10-4 through twelve-and-a-half minutes.
10:13: Nealer gets a clean look from the top of the circle but it’s stamped out by Anton Khudobin. Both teams 0-for-1 on the power play.
11:39: James Neal, making his return from a 16-game injury absence, draws the trip! We’ll get our turn with the man advantage.
12:52: Penalty kill? Completed it, mate.
14:52: Khaira gets his stick into the midsection of Janmark and takes a hooking call. Dallas to the PP.
16:08: Dallas tipping momentum early in the direction of the Oilers and Koskinen. Edmonton with only one good possession spell in the opening four minutes.
19:11: Koskinen with the first big stop. Remember, the Finn was sharp here last time out with 35 saves in a 2-1 win back in December.
