2:45: Kailer Yamamoto – recalled on Sunday and appearing in his first NHL game of the season – is robbed by the glove hand of Lundqvist. Filip Chytil hauls down Joakim Nygard right after as the Oilers go back to the PP.
4:56: A SIX SPOT! Josh Archibald corrals Riley Sheahan’s feed in front and slips it under Georgiev. The NY keeper slams his stick against the post in fury after the marker. Archibald now has three goals on the year and five points. Henrik Lundqvist takes over the Rangers’ crease now. | EDM 6, NYR 0
6:37: THE. REAL. DEAL! Neal captures the hat trick goal – his second of the season – by whipping McDavid’s perfect pass through Georgiev on the power play. Klefbom picks up assist number three on the night with Neal’s tuck! | EDM 5, NYR 0
6:49: DR. DRAI! Draisaitl dumps in the garbage in front to give the Oilers a four-goal advantage. That’s goal 23 for the German. Chris Kreider enters the box after the tally, sending EDM to the power play again. | EDM 4, NYR 0
7:47: Khaira and Ryan Lindgren tussle after a whistle. Lindgren gets two for cross-checking and two for slashing, while Khaira gets just two minutes for cross-checking, giving the Oilers another man advantage.
8:31: Neal gets close to securing his third of the night but the puck trickles just past him on the doorstep. The Oilers fail to convert on the PP.
11:29: NY kills Strome’s penalty but heads right back to the kill after taking a too many men bench minor.
14:40: Nugent-Hopkins takes a hooking penalty but it’s neutralized because Strome took a high-sticking double minor after catching a piece of Bear in the face. The Oilers get a 5-on-4 for two minutes.
15:24: Jesper Fast goes to former Oiler Ryan Strome on the doorstep but Koskinen keeps his chip out.
18:13: Panarin goes cross-ice to Adam Fox and he whistles the puck high, wide and out of play.

0.0: Darnell Nurse dings the post after a great setup from Connor McDavid. The Oilers close the first period up by a trio of markers, two that came from Neal plus a single from RNH. Shots are 11-9 EDM after 20.
3:57: Shots are 9-8 in favour of the Oilers as the first period nears a close.
8:47: THE NUUUUUGE! Ethan Bear sends the puck on net and RNH deflects it in for his eighth goal of the year! The Blueshirts take a timeout after the triage of goals against. Bear and Khaira are awarded the assists. | EDM 3, NYR 0
11:14: STEAL OF A DEAL! Neal gets a piece of Klefbom’s wrister for his second of the game and 18th goal of the year! Klefbom collects his second apple and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins grabs the secondary assist as EDM goes up by a pair. | EDM 2, NYR 0
11:22: Howden is guilty of tripping Kris Russell. The Oilers get their first power play of the evening.
14:20: Mika Zibanejad hits the post on a shot from outside.
