7:11: THE CAPTAIN’S COMING!!! Give McDavid 20 goals on the season to square thigns up. A great cross-ice feed from Ethan Bear ends with McDavid sliding it under the outstretched Kahkonen. EDM 4, MIN 4

9:17: HAAS HEATING UP!!! The draw comes back to Adam Larrson, who released a wrist shot that’s beautifully deflected into the top corner by the Swiss forward for his third of the season and first tally in 13 games. Larsson’s assist is the Swede’s first point of the campaign. MIN 4, EDM 3

 

10:36: Every Oilers attack, there’s five Wild members clogging up the defensive zone. Pack mentality.

20:00: Oilers look for their third win of the season when trailing after 40 minutes. Let’s get at it!

SECOND PERIOD

0:0: Oilers level the score on the PP early in the frame, but the Wild answer back with two goals from Foligno and Donato. Down 4-2 with 20 minutes to go.

2:07: Shortlived man advantage for the Oilers. Klefbom slashes Hartman on the shorthanded breakaway and we’ll play 4-on-4 for the next 1:26.

2:41: Eriksson Ek holds Draisaitl. Second PP for the Oilers coming up!

5:32: Just what the doctor ordered. Greenway books an appointment with Darnell Nurse and gets his prescription filled in a spirited scrap. Nurse has been throwing the body all period.

12:10: Donato makes Minnesota’s lead two. MIN 4, EDM 2

12:50: A clear look for Kassian off the pass by McDavid on the 2-on-1 is broken up at the last moment by Soucy.

16:14: Minnesota back in front. A quick break and give-and-go between Ryan Hartman and Marcus Foligno is finished off with a quick wrister from Foligno that solves Smith. MIN 3, EDM 2

18:00: LEON TUCKS IT HOME!! We’re all tied up on Draisaitl’s 20th of the campaign after squeaking one short side on the power play. Klefbom draws the penalty and records an assist on the play, now with a goal and assist on the night. The Oilers have PP goals in six-straight games. EDM 2, MIN 2

19:11: First PP goes the way of Blue & Orange after Neal battles for a loose puck and dishes to Klefbom, who’s hooked going around Soucy.

FIRST PERIOD

0.0: The Oilers jump ahead to a lead from Klefbom’s third of the season from Gagner and Neal, but the Wild answer back twice before the break to take a 2-1 lead into the second period.

17.5: The Wild move ahead. Jason Zucker goes back-hand shelf over Smith before the intermission. MIN 2, EDM 1

7:25: Equalizer for Minny. Carson Soucy’s point shot takes a friendly hop off a body in front and over the head of Mike Smith. Greenway gets the final touch off his shoulder. EDM 1, MIN 1

12:00: HOW DO YA DO, OSCAR KLEFBOM!!! A great give and go with Sam Gagner finds the Swede all alone in front to backhand home his third of the season past Kahkonen. That’s Klefbom’s first-career goal in the building he became an Oiler in at the 2011 NHL Draft. James Neal tallies the secondary helper in his 800th NHL game. EDM 1, MIN 0

15:05: Kassian’s tip off Connor McDavid’s pass to the far post on a quick break is stamped out by rookie Wild netminder Kaapo Kahkonen. Best chance of the contest so far from the Blue & Orange!

18:33: Zack Kassian almost sprung on an early breakaway, but the puck hops over his stick. He’s still able to find the activating Ethan Bear for a dangerous chance that’s deflected over the glass.

20:00: The puck’s been dropped in the State of Hockey! Let’s do that hockey.
