11:33: Joel Persson floats a wrist shot at the net looking for a redirection in front but Anderson covers the puck to avert any danger.

20:00: The third period has begun with the Oilers looking to knot this one up.

SECOND PERIOD

0.0: Riley Sheahan misses the handle at the top of the crease while the cage yawned wide open. The Sens explode for a three-goal middle frame with tallies courtesy of Anisimov, Brown and Ennis. Edmonton cut the deficit to one with Klefbom’s second of the year. Shots are 19-15 EDM.

2:23: KLEF-BOMB! The Oilers defender grabs his second goal of the season with a BLISTERING slap shot from the middle of the blueline. Gagner gets his second assist of the evening while James Neal gets the secondary helper. | OTT 3, EDM 2

3:48: Brady Tkachuk grabs Joakim Nygard, warranting a holding call against. The Oilers get a chance to get back within one on the man advantage.

8:18: Edmonton native Tyler Ennis puts one back off the rush to make it a two-goal lead for Ottawa. Mike Smith now comes in relief of Koskinen, who ends the night with nine saves on 12 shots. | OTT 3, EDM 1

10:31: The puck squirts loose under Koskinen’s pad but Darnell Nurse is on the spot to relieve any danger.

14:33: Connor Brown slips a wrist shot from the right dot through Koskinen to give the Sens two goals in just 11 seconds. They now take the lead. | OTT 2, EDM 1

2:40: Adam Larsson gets his stick high on Anthony Duclair, sending him to the box for a high-sticking minor.

5:51: JUUUUUUJ! Sam Gagner dishes a feed to spring Leon Draisaitl and Jujhar Khaira on a partial 2-on-0, with Draisaitl sending a backhand pass to Khaira for an easy tap-in. Ottawa challenges the play for offside but the goal stands, giving Edmonton a power play! Draisaitl nabs point 51 to tie McDavid and Khaira scores his sixth of the year. | EDM 1, OTT 0

8:02: The Orange & Blue are ALL OVER the Sens but can’t get one to go on the man advantage, despite consistent zone movement and a hit post courtesy of No. 97.

10:03: McDAVID ALERT! The Oilers Captain slips through four Senators and gets a shot on net, also drawing a slashing minor against Vladislav Namestnikov. The Oilers go to the power play.

10:35: Edmonton continues keeping possession in the O-zone but can’t muster any concrete offence just yet.

12:37: The Oilers are dictating much of the pace and out-shooting the Sens 5-1 so far.

17:50: Mikko Koskinen has to be sharp early to stop Logan Brown’s wrister just from the left dot. At the other end, Kris Russell tees one up on Craig Anderson but he slides across for the save.
