0.0: Vancouver re-establishes their two-goal lead in the second with markers from Pearson and Eriksson. Oilers are in tough to start the third, chasing 4-2 and being out-shot 29-21.

6:13: Smith tries to keep his pad down and glued to the post but Pearson somehow mucks the puck in past the goal-line for his second of the night. Vancouver takes the lead again. | VAN 3, EDM 2
7:46: Jujhar Khaira slams a one-timer high and wide then Darnell Nurse walks in from the point but he misses the cage too as the Oilers fail to convert on the power play.
10:20: Oscar Klefbom takes a stick to the face from Graovac and the Canucks defender is subsequently sent to the sin bin. Edmonton gets their second PP of the night!
14:55: THE KASS TRAIN! Kassian waits, waits and waits then ZIPS a wrist shot low blocker to score his ninth of the season and equalizing tally. McDavid gets the only assist for his second point of the evening. | EDM 2, VAN 2
16:00: Some chaos ensues in front of Smith but the ‘tendy remains calm to keep the puck out.

FIRST PERIOD
0.0: Captain Connor cuts Vancouver’s lead in half with his 19th of the campaign but the Oilers still trail 2-1 after 20. Shots are 16-7 Canucks.
1:24: McDavid JUST misses Kassian with an area pass for a breakaway. At the other end, Smith gloves down Pearson’s riser for his 14th save of the frame.
4:59: Markus Granlund jumps in on the forecheck and stick taps Jacob Markstrom, causing the netminder to buckle. Granlund receives a penalty for goaltender interference.

5:46: EDMONTON GETS ONE BACK! Ethan Bear locates Connor McDavid in the slot and the Cap flicks home his 19th of the season and 48th point! Bear and Sam Gagner get the assists. | VAN 2, EDM 1
7:57: Loui Eriksson gets his stick tangled up with Caleb Jones and receives a two-minute hooking minor as a result. The Oilers go to the man advantage.
8:19: SMITH! The keeper deals with Brock Boeser at the side of the net, who whacks and hacks but can’t get anything to go. Smith has nine saves this period already.
11:01: J.T. Miller sneaks into some soft ice and whips a quick forehand one-timer but Smith makes the save.
13:16: Leon Draisaitl has all sorts of time and space in the slot, releasing a laser that dings the iron and pops out.
15:28: Tyler Myers’ point shot catches a deflection ahead of Mike Smith but the guarding makes the stop and covers up.
16:11: Tyler Graovac fires a bullet from the wing that goes back bar and out. The Canucks open the scoring on the power play. | VAN 1, EDM 0
17:56: Zack Kassian gets hit entering the O-zone early in the play then returns the favour to Christopher Tanev behind the Canucks’ net. He gets two minutes for charging, giving the Canucks the game’s first power play.
