FIRST PERIOD

0.0: The first period ends scoreless, with the shots favouring the Devils 8-5. The Oilers will have 20 seconds left to kill on Nurse’s minor when the middle stanza begins.

1:40: Darnell Nurse gets called for slashing. The Devils put their League-worst road power play (4.8 percent) to work.

5:14: The Oilers fail to convert on the power play, with Leon Draisaitl’s one-timer from the wing being the club’s best chance.
