3:40: McDavid JUST misses Draisaitl’s stick on the doorstep as the Oilers press for the equalizer late.

8:58: KASSIAN! Kassian snipes his fourth off the wing to get the Oilers within one. Draisaitl and McDavid pick up the helpers. | STL 3, EDM 2

11:28: Draisaitl zips a one-timer on net and Zack Kassian tries to deposit the rebound but Allen keeps his pad down for the stop.

13:31: Oskar Sundqvist unloads a slapper that gets blocked by Brandon Manning.

16:09: Chiasson’s first shot is blocked and his second is caught by Allen.

17:43: Oscar Klefbom’s point shot gets deflected in front but just misses the cage. The Oilers are now 1-for-2 on the power play.

6:56: Ethan Bear blocks a one-timer on the PK but waits for a whistle to get off the ice. He limped to the bench but didn’t exit to the dressing room.

7:56: Alex Chiasson will sit two minutes for kneeing. The Blues are 2-for-2 on the man advantage tonight already.

8:35: Kris Russell makes a great defensive play, sprawling down to his stomach to intercept a 2-on-1 pass across.

13.3: McDavid kicks a pass to Draisaitl and he dangles then goes backhand but hits the post.

5:28: Zach Sanford hits the crossbar from the slot.

8:02: Colton Parayko picks up a rebound and tries to score on a wraparound but Smith kicks across to keep the puck out.

13:58: Alex Pietrangelo wires a seeing-eye wrister from the point to beat Smith. The two sides trade power-play markers early. | EDM 1, STL 1

14:16: Tomas Jurco takes a tripping minor. The Blues get their first power play of the evening.

15:16: Draisaitl makes a nifty through-the-legs pass for McDavid in the neutral zone and he flashes up ice, getting off a weak backhander on Allen.

17:14: THE CAP! McDavid goes 5-hole from a sharp angle to beat Jake Allen and open the scoring. He pots his eighth of the season as the assists go to Leon Draisaitl and Mike Smith. Draisaitl extends his point streak to seven games. | EDM 1, STL 0
